Immunoglobulin Structure: Amino Terminal Sequences of Kappa Chains from Genetically Similar Mice (BALB/c)

Science, 1970
The amino terminal portion of 20 kappa chains from the highly inbred BALB/c mouse has been examined on an automatic protein sequencer. These proteins can be divided into at least nine groups (subgroups) based on sequence patterns which are so distinct that each subgroup is probably encoded by at least one germ-line gene.

Monoclonal Antibodies Against Rat Immunoglobulin Kappa Chains

Hybridoma, 1982
Monoclonal antibodies directed against rat kappa light chains have been generated by immunizing SJL/J mice with soluble rat immunoglobulin, followed by fusion of immune spleen cells with the P3-X63-Ag8 myeloma cell line. Monoclonal antibodies from three of these hybridoma cell lines, MAR 18.5, 80.2, and 103.6, have been extensively characterized.

Generation of a mouse strain that produces immunoglobulin kappa chains with human constant regions.

Science, 1993
Humanized antibodies are highly efficient as immunotherapeutic reagents and have many advantages over rodent antibodies. A mouse strain was generated by gene targeting to replace the mouse kappa light chain constant (C) region gene with the human C kappa gene.

Kappa-Chain Deficiency

New England Journal of Medicine, 1976
Since kappa-chain deficiency is an unusual condition, we studied the clinical and laboratory findings in a patient with this deficiency. The patient had cystic fibrosis with concurrent malabsorption, diabetes mellitus and IgA deficiency. The serum levels of IgM and IgG were 0.85 and 7.22 mg per milliliter, respectively.

Immunoglobulin free light chains as an inflammatory biomarker of heart failure with myocarditis.

Clinical Immunology, 2020
BACKGROUND In this study, we measured immunoglobulin free light chains (FLC), a biomarker of inflammation in the sera of patients with heart failure due to myocarditis. METHODS FLC kappa and FLC lambda were assayed in stored serum samples from patients
