Abstract Objectives Gamma‐delta (γδ) T cells have been associated with favorable prognoses across several malignancies, underscoring their potential as targets for novel immunotherapies. These unconventional T lymphocytes exhibit an intrinsic tropism for the tumor microenvironment, largely driven by their capacity to recognize stress‐induced antigens ...

The Immunoscore in the Clinical Practice of Patients with Colon and Rectal Cancers
In the fine balance between tumor invasion and our defensive systems, the role played by the adaptive immune response at the tumor site is critical. Beyond the fact that all the immune components of the innate and adaptive response can be observed to varying degrees in the tumor microenvironment, it appears that a high density of T cytotoxic and memory

Tumor spread or siege immunity: dissemination to distant metastasis or not
Metastasis is the leading cause of cancer mortality. We have investigated the tumor microenvironment at all metastatic cascade steps (early-metastasic dissemination, synchronous metastasis, metachronous metastasis) to delineate the impact of tumor and ...

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into colorectal cancer reporting
Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning (DL) are transforming cancer research and clinical care, with histopathology playing a central role in this transformation. In colorectal cancer (CRC), the second leading cause of cancer mortality world‐wide, multimodal and vision‐language models (VLMs) hold particular promise for enhancing the ...

pH‐Dependent Microenvironmental Ionic Signaling in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma
ABSTRACT Aim Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) develops within a uniquely dynamic pH landscape shaped by substantial acid–base fluxes produced by the exocrine pancreas. Secretion of alkaline pancreatic juice, normally linked to digestion, produces intermittent acidifications of the pancreatic interstitium, which challenges epithelial and stromal ...

Immune Cell Composition in Human Non-small Cell Lung Cancer
Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the leading cause of cancer-related death in the world. Immunological analysis of the tumor microenvironment (immunoscore) shows great promise for improved prognosis and prediction of response to immunotherapy ...
