Altered Cytokine‐Induced STAT3 and STAT5 Activation of Peripheral T Follicular Helper Cells Contributes to Vaccine‐Non‐Responsiveness in Aging and HIV

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 3, March 2026.
Chronic immune activation and inflammation associated with aging and HIV skew Tfh signaling toward enhanced IL‐2–STAT5 activation, reinforcing IL‐2R expression through a positive feedback loop and suppressing Tfh helper differentiation programs, thereby contributing to impaired vaccine responsiveness.

Physical Fitness Dynamics Shape Immune Remodeling in Healthy Aging: A 3‐Year Longitudinal Study

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 3, March 2026.
In a 3‐year longitudinal study of healthy older adults, intraindividual declines in physical fitness and strength were linked to dynamic immune remodeling, including shifts toward senescent and regulatory T cell phenotypes, despite stable activity levels.

Magnesium Deficiency Accelerates Gut Aging and Increases Susceptibility to Colitis

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 3, March 2026.
Aging is associated with a gut‐specific decline in magnesium (Mg), which accelerates intestinal aging and aggravates colitis in aged mice. Mechanistically, Mg deficiency reshapes the phosphoproteome and N‐glycoproteome, destabilizing adhesion complexes.

Alemtuzumab Induction in Septuagenarians Undergoing Deceased Donor Kidney Transplantation

open access: yesClinical Transplantation, Volume 40, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction The anti‐CD52 monoclonal antibody alemtuzumab is used as an induction agent in kidney transplantation (KT) but remains understudied in septuagenarian recipients. The study purpose was to analyze the safety and efficacy of single‐dose alemtuzumab induction in septuagenarian deceased donor (DD) KT recipients.
