IN SILICO ANALYSIS OF A PUTATIVE MOLYBDENUM TRANSPORTER (MoT) IN BUFFALO [PDF]

open access: yesExploratory Animal and Medical Research, 2018
Almost all living organism require to transport molybdenum (Mo) from outside cellular milieu for maintenance of essential life processes. Mo is serving as cofactor for catalytic activity of xanthine dehydrogenase, aldehyde oxidase and sulphite oxidase ...

Comparative genomic analysis of Acinetobacter spp. plasmids originating from clinical settings and environmental habitats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Bacteria belonging to the genus Acinetobacter have become of clinical importance over the last decade due to the development of a multi-resistant phenotype and their ability to survive under multiple environmental conditions.

Digital twins to accelerate target identification and drug development for immune‐mediated disorders

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Digital twins integrate patient‐derived molecular and clinical data into personalised computational models that simulate disease mechanisms. They enable rapid identification and validation of therapeutic targets, prediction of drug responses, and prioritisation of candidate interventions.

Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Tubulin bond energies and microtubule biomechanics determined from nanoindentation in silico [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Microtubules, the primary components of the chromosome segregation machinery, are stabilized by longitudinal and lateral non-covalent bonds between the tubulin subunits.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Agent-based modeling: a systematic assessment of use cases and requirements for enhancing pharmaceutical research and development productivity. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A crisis continues to brew within the pharmaceutical research and development (R&D) enterprise: productivity continues declining as costs rise, despite ongoing, often dramatic scientific and technical advances. To reverse this trend, we offer various
