A mutagenic in vivo metabolite of sodium azide
Mutation Research/Environmental Mutagenesis and Related Subjects, 1978Experimental evidence is presented for the presence of a mutagenic metabolite formed in vivo in barley embryos exposed to sodium azide. The mutagenic substance found in extracts after removal of free azide by acidification was partially purified by liquid column chromatography and eluted.

In Vivo Mutagenicity Testing of Arylboronic Acids and Esters
Environmental and Molecular Mutagenesis, 2019Arylboronic acids and esters (referred to collectively as arylboronic compounds) are commonly used intermediates in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals but pose a challenge for chemical syntheses because they are often positive for bacterial mutagenicity in vitro.

Mutagenicity studies with 6-mercaptopurine: I. Cytogenetic activity in vivo
Mutation Research/Fundamental and Molecular Mechanisms of Mutagenesis, 1973Abstract Cytogenetic studies have been performed to determine the effect of 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP) on mammalian chromosomes in vivo . An elevated level of chromosome breakage is present in mouse bone marrow cells within 12 h after oral or parenteral dosing with 200 mg/kg.

In vitro and in vivo mutagenicity studies with airborne particulate extracts
Mutation Research/Genetic Toxicology, 1988The contribution of nitro compounds to airborne particulate mutagenicity was studied with Salmonella typhimurium strains TA98, TA98NR, TA98/1,8DNP6. The results obtained indicate that nitropyrenes play a minor role in air particulate mutagenicity. Seasonal variations indicate a relatively greater contribution of nitro compounds to the mutagenicity of ...

Mutagenicity of dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO): In vivo cytogenetics study in the rat
Teratogenesis, Carcinogenesis, and Mutagenesis, 1981AbstractVarious concentrations (1%, 10%, 50%, and 100%) of laboratory grade dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) were administered by intraperitoneal injection to male Sprague‐Dawley rats for five consecutive days. Femoral bone marrow cells were harvested 24 hours after the last injection and were analyzed for cytogenetic aberration frequencies including ...

Mutagenicity of Selected Chemicals in In Vivo Cytogenetic Assays
1981There are a variety of test systems available for the analysis of chromosome aberrations following in vivo treatment. There are advantages and disadvantages to each, which means that the information obtained from any one test must be critically examined. Because of the variety of test systems employed, it is also impossible to provide a concise summary

[Mutagen-modifying effects of beta-carotene in vivo].
Genetika, 1997A chromosome aberration test on bone marrow cells of C57B1/6 mice showed that beta-carotene (BC) applied by oral administration as a E160a food dye (30% oil suspension) at doses of 0.5, 5, and 50 mg/kg simultaneously with cyclophosphamide (CPA) and dioxidine (DN) injected intraperitoneally for a period of 24 h did not modify their clastogenic effects ...
