THE EFFICACY OF INDIRECT CORRECTIVE FEEDBACK IN IMPROVING STUDENTS’ WRITING SKILL IN WRITING NARRATIVE TEXTS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Feedback is an essential element of a process approach to writing. Indirect Corrective Feedback involves indicating that the student has made an error without actually correcting it.

A Functional 2D Carbon Allotrope Combining Nanoporous Graphene and Biphenylene Segments

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis of a novel nanoporous graphene (NPG) is reported with biphenylene segments via thermal fusion of 12‐armchair porous graphene nanoribbons grown on gold surfaces. Characterization using STM, AFM, and DFT reveals low‐defect semiconducting behaviour and tunable band gaps.

Energetic Offset in Organic Solar Cells‐ Importance, Confusion and Outlook

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Energetic offsets in organic solar cells (OSCs) remain a subject of debate due to measurement‐ and lab‐dependent discrepancies. This Perspective clarifies the physical origins of these variations and identifies temperature‐dependent electro‐optical methods as a reliable approach to obtain consistent offset values.

The Impact of Indirect Feedback on Learning Writing

open access: yesIssues in Language Instruction, 2018
Correction of writing errors in the classroom requires much time and work from the instructor. A learner-centered approach helps students notice and correct their own errors. This presentation offers instructors techniques to give students indirect feedback, and reviews the major influences on the acquisition of writing skills.

Tailoring Phonon‐Driven Responses in α‐MoO3 through Isotopic Enrichment

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The implementation of polaritonic materials into nanoscale devices requires selective tuning of parameters to realize desired spectral or thermal responses. One robust material, α‐MoO3, an orthorhombic crystal boasting three distinct phonon dispersions, provides three polaritonic dispersions of hyperbolic phonon polaritons (HPhPs) across the ...
