The pregnane X receptor and its microbiota-derived ligand indole 3-propionic acid regulate endothelium-dependent vasodilation [PDF]
We proposed that circulating metabolites generated by the intestinal microbiota can affect vascular function. One such metabolite, indole 3-propionic acid (IPA), can activate the pregnane X receptor(PXR), a xenobiotic-activated nuclear receptor present in many tissues, including the vascular endothelium.

Concentration difference of auxin involved in stem development in soybean
Auxin regulates cell division and elongation of the primordial cells through its concentration and then shaped the plant architecture. Cell division and elongation form the internode of soybean and result in different plant heights and lodging resistance.

Separating Myths From Facts About Bread and Health
ABSTRACT White bread remains a staple food in many countries and global consumption continues to increase. However, there is an increasingly contentious debate, carried out particularly in social media and the popular press, about the adverse effects on health of factory‐produced sliced white bread as opposed to the whole grain breads made with ...

UGT74D1 is a novel auxin glycosyltransferase from Arabidopsis thaliana. [PDF]
Auxin is one type of phytohormones that plays important roles in nearly all aspects of plant growth and developmental processes. The glycosylation of auxins is considered to be an essential mechanism to control the level of active auxins.

New Synthetic Cannabinoids Metabolism and Strategies to Best Identify Optimal Marker Metabolites. [PDF]
Synthetic cannabinoids (SCs) were initially developed as pharmacological tools to probe the endocannabinoid system and as novel pharmacotherapies, but are now highly abused.

In this study, we investigated the protective effects of different membrane‐separated ripe Pu‐erh tea on alcohol‐induced liver injury. The result indicated that ripe Pu‐erh tea separated by a 50 nm ceramic membrane (molecular weight < 300 kDa) has the best effect on preventing ALD.

This randomized, double‐blind, placebo‐controlled trial demonstrated that probiotic supplementation in individuals with non‐celiac gluten/wheat sensitivity improved tolerance to gluten reintroduction in nearly half of participants. The effect was associated with beneficial shifts in gut microbiome composition and function, including enhanced microbial ...
