Stimuli‐Responsive Supramolecular Biomaterials for Cancer Theranostics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The ultimate goal of cancer theranostics is to get imaging agents and therapeutic cargo to tumor sites when and where they are required. “Smart” systems should be developed. This review discusses the characteristics of physiological stimuli, types and action modes of external stimuli, construction approaches and working principles, as well as ...

Structure and Plasticity of Indoleamine 2,3-Dioxygenase 1 (IDO1).

open access: yesJournal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2021
Since the discovery of the implication of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1) in tumoral immune resistance in 2003, the search for inhibitors has been intensely pursued both in academia and in pharmaceutical companies, supported by the publication of ...

Phocaeicola coprophilus‐Derived 6‐Methyluracil Attenuates Radiation‐Induced Intestinal Fibrosis by Suppressing the IDO1‐Kynurenine‐AHR Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IR‐induced dysbiosis depletes P. coprophilus and its metabolite 6‐methyluracil, leading to disinhibition of the IDO1‐Kyn‐AHR axis. This results in sustained fibroblast activation and collagen deposition, driving radiation induced intestinal fibrosis. ABSTRACT Therapeutic options for radiation‐induced intestinal fibrosis (RIF) remain limited. This study

Discovery of Icotinib-1,2,3-Triazole Derivatives as IDO1 Inhibitors

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2020
Tumor immunotherapy is considered to be a highlight in cancer treatment in recent years. Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1) is closely related to the over expression of many cancers, and is therefore a promising target for tumor immunotherapy.

Biomimetic Iridium‐Based Photothermal Nanozyme to Trigger Ferroptosis and Pyroptosis and Activate the cGAS‐STING Pathway for Improved Tumor Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops an iridium‐based nanozyme (IIN@M) with superior enzyme‐like activity and photothermal performance. It disrupts intracellular redox balance by generating reactive oxygen species and depleting glutathione, which synergistically induces ferroptosis, pyroptosis, and immunogenic cell death.

Linking Two Immuno-Suppressive Molecules: Indoleamine 2,3 Dioxygenase Can Modify HLA-G Cell-Surface Expression1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Nonclassical human leukocyte antigen (HLA) class I molecule HLA-G and indoleamine 2,3 dioxygenase (INDO) in humans and mice, respectively, have been shown to play crucial immunosuppressive roles in fetal-maternal tolerance.

Trojan Horse Strategy: How Biomimetic Nanomedicine Remodels the Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review focuses on biomimetic nanomedicines for tumor microenvironment (TME) remodeling, covering their diverse biomimetic types, design principles, and mechanisms of immune cell reprogramming and reversal of immunosuppressive microenvironments, with particular emphasis on their application in synergistic immunotherapy.

Characterization and profiling of immunomodulatory genes of equine mesenchymal stromal cells from non-invasive sources [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Introduction: Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) have been extensively studied for their promising capabilities in regenerative medicine. Although bone marrow is the best-known source for isolating equine MSCs, non-invasive alternative sources such as ...

Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 limits hepatic inflammatory cells recruitment and promotes bile duct ligation-induced liver fibrosis

open access: yesCell Death and Disease, 2021
Liver fibrosis is a course of chronic liver dysfunction, can develop into cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Inflammatory insult owing to pathogenic factors plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of liver fibrosis.

T Cell Exhaustion in Cancer Immunotherapy: Heterogeneity, Mechanisms, and Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
T cell exhaustion limits immunotherapy efficacy. This article delineates its progression from stem‐like to terminally exhausted states, governed by persistent antigen, transcription factors, epigenetics, and metabolism. It maps the exhaustion landscape in the TME and proposes integrated reversal strategies, providing a translational roadmap to overcome
