Navigation Equations, Uncertainty and Error Budget in Inertial Navigation Systems
2021 IEEE 8th International Workshop on Metrology for AeroSpace (MetroAeroSpace), 2021INS systems are increasingly present on all vehicles and increasingly miniaturized. In this paper, we will examine the error budget of an inertial system through simplified navigation equations and how the error evolves over time. This is to highlight the need for external correction methods.

Magnetic sensors in inertial navigation system
2014 IEEE 20th International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME), 2014The purpose of this paper is to present a inertial navigation system with an additional magnetic sensor to increase the accuracy of the guidance system. Thus we obtain a system that has less need of an external reference system for correction of internal reference system, this increasing its autonomy.

STATISTICAL ESTIMATION IN INERTIAL NAVIGATION SYSTEMS
Guidance and Control Conference, 1966Although navigation systems have generally been developed by solving exactly the dynamic equations of motion, in reality the navigation problem is a statistical one since there are unpredictable errors in the measurements. The advent of very powerful navigation computers makes it possible by using statistical filtering techniques to retrieve more of ...
