Unraveling the role of polycystin-2/inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor interaction in Ca2+ signaling

open access: yesCommunicative & Integrative Biology, 2010
Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) arises as a consequence of mutations of the genes PKD1 and PKD2, encoding respectively the integral membrane proteins polycystin-1 and polycystin-2 (TRPP2), resulting in a disturbance in intracellular ...

Functional Role of Intracellular Calcium Receptor Inositol 1,4,5-Trisphosphate Type 1 in Rat Hippocampus after Neonatal Anoxia. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
Anoxia is one of the most prevalent causes of neonatal morbidity and mortality, especially in preterm neonates, constituting an important public health problem due to permanent neurological sequelae observed in patients.

B Cells are Activated via a Nanoporous Interface that Stabilizes Microvilli and Engages Mechanosensitive Ion Channels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
B cells can be activated independently of antigen recognition via mechanical stimulation through nanoporous substrates. Exposure to such substrates induced B cell microvilli extension into the pores, intracellular Ca2+ signaling, phosphorylation of signaling proteins, and CD69 expression.

Bioenergetic Materials for Tissue Regeneration: Modulating Metabolism to Promote Cellular Anabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Bioenergetic materials (BEMs) modulate cellular metabolism to promote tissue regeneration. Their principal mechanisms of action include metabolic substrate supplementation, metabolic enzyme modulation, organelle transfer, electrical current regulation, redox homeostasis modulation, and oxygen tension modulation.

Spatiotemporal expression and molecular regulation of calcium transport-related genes in the uterus of ducks during the egg-laying cycle

open access: yesPoultry Science
This study investigated the molecular regulation of uterine calcium ion (Ca²⁺) transport during the oviposition cycle in Guizhou Sansui ducks. Uterine tissues were collected at 0, 2, 5, and 16 h after oviposition to determine Ca²⁺ concentrations and ...

Apoptotic effects of inositol hexaphosphate on biomarker Itpr3 in induced colon rat carcinogenesis Efeito de apoptose do inositol hexafosfato no marcador biológico Itpr3 em carcinogênese induzida de colo em ratos

open access: yesActa Cirúrgica Brasileira, 2008
PURPOSE: To study the effect of the modulation of inositol hexaphosphate (IP6) in the biological immunohistochemistry expression of cellular signaling marker apoptosis, in model of carcinogenesis of colon induced by azoxymethane (AOM).

A Comparative Perspective on Functionally-Related, Intracellular Calcium Channels: The Insect Ryanodine and Inositol 1,4,5-Trisphosphate Receptors

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2021
Calcium (Ca2+) homeostasis is vital for insect development and metabolism, and the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is a major intracellular reservoir for Ca2+.

Extracellular Vesicle Packaged TDP43 Derived From ECs Exacerbates Cigarette Tar‐Related Atherosclerosis Progression via Enhancing Macrophage Extracellular Traps

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cigarette tar triggers EC‐derived EVs carrying TDP43, which binds VDAC1 to boost MAMs, mitochondrial Ca2+ overload, and METs formation in macrophages, accelerating smoking‐related AS progression, while retinoic acid binds TDP43 to block this pathogenic cascade.

Cell cycle-dependent regulation of structure of endoplasmic reticulum and inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate-induced Ca2+ release in mouse oocytes and embryos [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The organization of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) was examined in mouse eggs undergoing fertilization and in embryos during the first cell cycle. The ER in meiosis 11 (MII)-arrested mouse eggs is characterized by accumulations (clusters) that are restricted

Control of protein translation by IP3R-mediated Ca2+ release in Drosophila neuroendocrine cells

open access: yesFly, 2017
The inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor (IP3R) is one of two Ca2+ channels that gates Ca2+ release from ER-stores. The ligand IP3, generated upon specific G-protein coupled receptor activation, binds to IP3R to release Ca2+ into the cytosol.
