Hydrolysis of precipitated phytate by three distinct families of phytases [PDF]
While genetically modified plants that secrete histidine acid phosphatases (HAPs), β-propeller phytases (BPPs) and purple acid phosphatases (PAPs) have been shown to assimilate soluble phytate, little is known about whether these plants have the ability ...

ABSTRACT Clostridioides difficile infection presents an escalating clinical challenge due to the proliferation of hypervirulent and antibiotic‐resistant strains. The primary symptoms of disease, namely colitis and diarrhea, are induced by the release of two toxins: TcdA and TcdB.

IP6 Regulation of HIV Capsid Assembly, Stability, and Uncoating
The mechanisms that drive formation of the HIV capsid, first as an immature particle and then as a mature protein shell, remain incompletely understood.

Do mammals make all their own inositol hexakisphosphate? [PDF]
A highly specific and sensitive mass assay for inositol hexakisphosphate (InsP6) was characterized. This centres around phosphorylating InsP6 with [32P]ATP using a recombinant InsP6 kinase from Giardia lambia, followed by HPLC of the 32P-labelled products with an internal [3H]InsP7 standard.

Synergism between Inositol Polyphosphates and TOR Kinase Signaling in Nutrient Sensing, Growth Control, and Lipid Metabolism in Chlamydomonas [PDF]
The networks that govern carbon metabolism and control intracellular carbon partitioning in photosynthetic cells are poorly understood. Target of Rapamycin (TOR) kinase is a conserved growth regulator that integrates nutrient signals and modulates cell

Abstract Background and Objective Quantifying phytic acid in complex or fermented foods is essential for assessing nutritional quality. Conventional enzymatic assays often overestimate phytic acid due to nonspecific hydrolysis of phosphorylated compounds.

Absence of detectable inositol hexakisphosphate (phytate) in plasma
A critical evaluation of a recent attempt to measure inositol hexakisphosphate (IP6) in mammalian plasma by mass spectroscopy leads to the conclusion that as yet there is no unambiguous evidence that plasma contains any IP6.

Molecular Cloning of Phytase Gene from ASUIA279 and Its Expression in Pichia pastoris System
Phytases catalyze the hydrolysis of phytate (myo-inositol hexakisphosphate), one of the major storage form of phosphate in plants, with subsequent release of myo-inositol, phosphate and phytate-bound minerals.

Alterations in hepatic miRNA expression during negative energy balance in postpartum dairy cattle [PDF]
peer-reviewedBackground Negative energy balance (NEB), an altered metabolic state, occurs in early postpartum dairy cattle when energy demands to support lactation exceed energy intake.
