Seasonal Dynamics of Community and Function of Gut Microbiome in Taihangshan Macaque (Macaca mulatta tcheliensis): Inferred From Metagenomic Data

A total of 435 non‐redundant metagenome‐assembled genomes (MAGs) were obtained from fecal samples of Taihangshan macaque across all four seasons. The alpha diversity of the gut microbiome in spring and winter was significantly higher than in summer and autumn. Microbiota‐Mediated Sequential Gallery Colonization by Adults and Larvae of an Invasive Bark Beetle

Dispersing adult beetles harbor more pinitol‐degrading microbes to colonize novel host pines with high levels of pinitol stress. These microbes from the beetle's exoskeleton and gut will be transmitted into the gallery via adults’ feeding and frass, whose proliferation in the gallery contributes to the formation of a low‐pinitol microhabitat.

Non‐canonical PKG1 regulation in cardiovascular health and disease

It is well established that the cyclic GMP‐dependent protein kinase I (PKG1) is canonically activated by cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), enabling its regulation of vascular tone, cardiac function and smooth muscle homeostasis. However, diverse non‐canonical stimuli of PKG1 have also been identified.
