HIV and Non‐HIV Patients Have Similar Rates of Neoplastic Findings on Screening Colonoscopy Within a Predominantly African American Cohort

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 14, Issue 8, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction With the reduction in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)–related mortality secondary to antiretroviral therapy, chronic medical conditions and age‐related cancers account for a larger proportion of mortality among those with HIV. Cancer risk overall remains elevated in HIV patients, and cancer screening data in this population is ...

Significance of constitutive integrase synthesis. [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1976
One conceivable function for constitutive integrase formation by lambda prophage is to stabilize the inserted state by catalyzing reinsertion of prophages that are accidentally excised. As this hypothesis implies a dynamic equilibrium betwen inserted and noninserted DNA, the existence of such an equilibrium is explored.

Characterization of the Functional Domains of Human Foamy Virus Integrase Using Chimeric Integrases

open access: yesMolecules and Cells, 2005
Retroviral integrases insert viral DNA into target DNA. In this process they recognize their own DNA specifically via functional domains. In order to analyze these functional domains, we constructed six chimeric integrases by swapping domains between HIV-1 and HFV integrases, and two point mutants of HFV integrase.
