Biology of interleukin-10 [PDF]
Interleukin (IL)-10 is the most important cytokine with anti-inflammatory properties besides TGF-β and IL-35. It is produced by activated immune cells, in particular monocytes/macrophages and T cell subsets including Tr1, Treg, and Th1 cells. IL-10 acts through a transmembrane receptor complex, which is composed of IL-10R1 and IL-10R2, and regulates ...

Mapping of the interleukin‐10/interleukin‐10 receptor combining site [PDF]
AbstractThe discontinuous interleukin‐10(IL‐10)/interleukin‐10 receptor (IL‐10R) combining site was mapped using sets of overlapping peptides derived from both binding partners bound to continuous cellulose membranes. Low affinity binding of single regions of the discontinuous contact sites on IL‐10 and IL‐10R could be identified due to (1) high ...

Interleukin-10 in the intestine [PDF]
See article on page215 Cytokines are small glycoprotein mediators involved in communication between cells. Immunological responses are, to a high degree, regulated and directed by specific cytokines. The simultaneous action of different cytokines, as well as their sequential interaction with target cells, seems to be of pivotal importance for an ...

Comparison of spleen characterization and plasma levels of interleukin 6 and 10 in obese and healthy individuals [PDF]
Background and aims: Spleen is one of the organs that has great importance in Iranian traditional medicine due to its relationship with obesity. Therefore, in this study, we aim to investigate spleen characterization and plasma levels of interleukin 6 ...

Interleukin-10 in Human Milk [PDF]
The concentrations of immunoreactive IL-10 in the aqueous fraction of 20 specimens of human milk obtained during the first 80 h of lactation and stored at -60 degrees C ranged from 66 to 9301 pg/mL (mean +/- SD, 3304 +/- 3127 pg/mL). IL-10 was present also in the lipid layer of milk.

Blood concentrations of endothelin, interleukins 6 and 10 in men with diabetes mellitus
Background. Pathological activation of cytokines is one of the key links in the pathogenesis of diabetes mellitus (DM) and the development of its complications, in particular from the cardiovascular system.

Epigenetic Changes Associated With Interleukin-10 [PDF]
IL-10 is a regulator of inflammation and immunosuppression. IL-10 regulates a variety of immune cells to limit and stop the inflammatory response, and thus plays an important role in autoimmune diseases, inflammatory diseases and cancer. IL-10 is closely related to epigenetic modification, in which changes in DNA methylation of IL-10 gene can affect ...

Interleukin-10 stiffens the heart [PDF]
Cardiac-resident macrophages are a diverse population of cells that have a critical role in the pathogenesis of heart failure. A new understanding of communication between macrophages and cardiac fibroblasts could lead to novel therapeutic strategies for heart failure with preserved ejection function.
