Interleukin-11 attenuates ifosfamide-induced hemorrhagic cystitis

open access: yesInternational Brazilian Journal of Urology, 2007
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the possible protective effect of recombinant human interleukin-11 (rhIL-11) against ifosfamide (IFS)-induced hemorrhagic cystitis (HC) MATERIALS AND METHODS: Male Swiss mice (20-30g) were pretreated with rhIL-11 (25-625 mg ...

Mediation of interleukin-11-dependent biological responses by a soluble form of the interleukin-11 receptor [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical Journal, 1996
Interleukin-11 (IL-11) is a polyfunctional cytokine whose biological actions require a specific IL-11 receptor (IL-11R) and the transmembrane transducer gp130. Here we report the production of a soluble form of the murine IL-11R and demonstrate that it interacts with IL-11 ligand with high affinity.

The Role of Recombinant Interleukin 11 in Megakaryocytopoiesis [PDF]

open access: yesStem Cells, 1996
Recombinant human interleukin 11 (rHuIL-11) is a multifunctional cytokine with activities on a broad range of hematopoietic cells including primitive stem cells and mature progenitor cells. Analysis of rHuIL-11 in vitro has revealed that its hematopoietic activities are predominantly a result of synergistic interactions with other early-acting factors ...

IL11 activates the placental inflammasome to drive preeclampsia

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2023
IntroductionPreeclampsia is a life-threatening disorder of pregnancy unique to humans. Interleukin (IL)11 is elevated in serum from pregnancies that subsequently develop early-onset preeclampsia and pharmacological elevation of IL11 in pregnant mice ...

A fusion protein of interleukin‐11 and soluble interleukin‐11 receptor acts as a superagonist on cells expressing gp130 [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 1999
Interleukin‐11 is a hematopoietic cytokine that signals via the signal transducer gp130. Although gp130 is ubiquitously expressed, interleukine‐11 responsiveness is restricted to cells that express the interleukine‐11 receptor α‐subunit. The interleukine‐11 receptor α‐subunit can be functionally replaced by its soluble form indicating that the ...

Evaluation of anti-inflammatory effect of chorion membrane in periodontal pocket therapy: A clinical and biochemical study

open access: yesJournal of Indian Society of Periodontology, 2018
Background: The aim of the study was to evaluate the anti-inflammatory effect of chorion as a barrier membrane in periodontal pocket therapy by assessing interleukin-11 (IL-11) level in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF).

Circulating Interleukins as Biomarkers in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Patients: A Pilot Study Compared to Normal Individuals

open access: yesDiseases
Identifying biomarkers in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) can improve diagnosis and patient stratification. We evaluated plasmas and sera for interleukins (IL)-11, IL-6, IL-8, IL-17A, and IL-33 as biomarkers in primary NSCLC patients undergoing ...

Pilot study on molecular quantitation and sequencing of endometrial cytokines gene expression and their effect on the outcome of in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Research, 2014
Human trophoblast invasion and differentiation are essential for successful pregnancy outcome. The molecular mechanisms, however, are poorly understood. Interleukin (IL)-11, a cytokine, regulates endometrial epithelial cell adhesion.

The Influence of IL-11 on Cardiac Fibrosis in Experimental Models: A Systematic Review

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Development and Disease
Fibrosis is one of the main factors that impair the function of many organs. In the heart, fibrosis leads to contractile dysfunction and arrhythmias, which are important in the development of heart failure.

Efficacy and Safety Analysis of Roxarestat in Regulating Renal Anemia in Patients on Maintenance Hemodialysis

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of roxarestat versus recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) in the management of renal anemia in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. Methods This was a prospective, open‐label, randomized controlled trial.
