Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Changes of vitamin D, Th17/Treg related cytokines and their correlations with disease activity in chronic spontaneous urticaria

open access: yesJournal of Cutaneous Immunology and Allergy
AimsTo investigate levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin-D (25HVD), interleukin-17 (IL-17), IL-27, IL-35, and transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1) in chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) patients and their correlations with disease activity.MethodsAn ...

Interleukin-25 and Interleukin-13 Production by Alveolar Macrophages in Response to Particles [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Respiratory Cell and Molecular Biology, 2005
Particle inhalation-induced lung inflammation acts as an adjuvant to allergens or respiratory viral infection in a process that is mediated by macrophages and epitheliums. The production of interleukin (IL)-4 and IL-13 by activated T cells is involved in the augmentation of Th2-type immune responses to particles, and IL-25 induces the synthesis of IL-4

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

Role of Interleukin-17 family cytokines in disease severity of patients with knee osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvances in Rheumatology
Background Interleukin-17 (IL-17) family plays a role in the pathogenesis of knee osteoarthritis (KOA) by contributing to the inflammatory and destructive processes in the affected joint.

Induction of IL-25 secretion from tumour-associated fibroblasts suppresses mammary tumour metastasis

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
Interleukin-25 has been reported to have anticancer activity with very little effect on non-malignant cells. Here, the authors show that a synthetic phytochemical can be used to induce the secretion of Interleukin-25 from tumour associated fibroblasts ...

Effects of seasonal changes on T-helper 1/ T-helper 2 immune balance and eczema onset in rats

open access: yesJournal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences, 2023
Objective: To explore the impact of seasonal changes on the T-helper 1 (Th1)/T-helper 2 (Th2) immune balance of the body in order to elucidate the internal immunological mechanisms underlying seasonal eczema.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.
