The Gut Commensal Butyricimonas Virosa Modulates Gut Microbiota‐Dependent Thiamine Metabolism and Attenuates Mouse Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that dietary stachyose enriches Butyricimonas virosa, effectively attenuating metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). Mechanistically, B. virosa enhances gut thiamine monophosphate synthesis, which elevates hepatic thiamine pyrophosphate levels.

Expression, purification, and biological characterization of recombinant human interleukin‐31 protein

Biotechnology and Applied Biochemistry, 2023
Interleukin‐31 (IL‐31), belonging to the IL‐6 cytokine family, is involved in skin inflammation and pruritus, as well as some tumors’ progression. Here, we reported the expression and purification of recombinant human IL‐31 (rhIL‐31) using a prokaryotic ...

Mechanism underlying pruritus in recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa: Role of interleukin‐31 from mast cells and macrophages

Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, 2023
Pruritus is a highly burdensome symptom in patients with epidermolysis bullosa, especially recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB); however, only a few studies have assessed the molecular pathogenesis of RDEB‐associated pruritus.

Itch intensity in prurigo nodularis is closely related to dermal interleukin‐31, oncostatin M, IL‐31 receptor alpha and oncostatin M receptor beta

Experimental Dermatology, 2021
Prurigo nodularis (PN) is a chronic skin dermatosis with hyperkeratotic and intensely pruritic nodules. Managing PN‐associated itch is difficult because its aetiology is still unknown.

The emerging role of the neuroimmune cytokine interleukin-31 in chronic inflammatory skin diseases.

Italian journal of dermatology and venereology, 2022
Chronic inflammatory skin diseases pose significant challenges for both patients and clinicians worldwide. Atopic dermatitis (AD), the most common of these diseases, affects up to 8% of the adult population depending on geographic location and ...
