The biological role of interleukin 5

The International Journal of Cell Cloning, 1990
Eosinophilia can be a specific cellular response, but the mechanisms of its control are not yet fully understood. Interleukin 5 (IL-5) is a lineage-specific eosinophil differentiation and activation factor. It can be detected in the serum of mice with eosinophilia, and antibody to IL-5 blocks the development of parasite-induced eosinophilia.

Interleukin-5 (IL-5)

1995
Abstract The cDNA sequence for human and mouse (GenBank accession numbers X04688 and X06270) predict proteins of 134 and 133 amino acids, respectively. Sequence information is available for both the human and mouse genomic genes (GenBank accession numbers J02971 and XO6271).The coding sequence of the IL-5 gene forms four exons.

The Interleukin-5 Receptor

1995
Abstract The nucleotide sequence of the human IL-5Ra cDNA (GenBank accession numbers M75914, M96651, M96652, X61176, X61177, X61178, and X62156) predicts a polypeptide of 420 amino acids (Fig. 1) (Tavernier et al. 1991, 1992; Murata et al. 1992).
