Effect of intermediate principal stress and minimum principal stress unloading stress path and rate on energy evolution of sandstone under true triaxial compression

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
In the process of deep coal mining, the unloading stress path and unloading rate of deep rock are complicated and changeable due to the influence of excavation and unloading.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Generation of Pore Pressure and Three-dimensional Deformation Behavior of Soft Clay with Different Initial State Under Combined Principal Stress Rotation

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2021
Subjected to complex loads, such as wave, earthquake and traffic loads, the corresponding stress states of the foundation soil are complicated. The simultaneous variations of the deviatoric stress and principal stress direction occur in practical ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Influence of the intermediate principal stress on the stress–strain–strength behaviour of a completely decomposed granite soil

open access: yes, 2012
The most widely encountered soil type in Hong Kong is completely decomposed granite (CDG). In this paper, the influence of the intermediate principal stress through b-values on the stress–strain–strength behaviour of a recompacted CDG soil is ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Intermediate Principal Stress Effects on the 3D Cracking Behavior of Flawed Rocks Under True Triaxial Compression [PDF]

open access: yes
: Crack initiation, growth, and coalescence in flawed rocks have been extensively studied for 2D (planar, penetrating) flaws under uniaxial/biaxial compression.

A Stress-Dilatancy Relationship for Rockfill Incorporating Particle Breakage and Intermediate Principal-Stress Ratio

open access: yesKSCE Journal of Civil Engineering, 2019
Rockfill material is widely used for construction of high rockfill dam, which undergoes significant particle breakage and three-dimensional stress path induced by the water pressure, earthquake, etc. The dilatancy equation, defined as the function of the dilatancy dg and the stress ratio η, is regarded as the foundation of elastoplastic constitutive ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Effect of Relative Density and Stress Level on the Bearing Capacity of Footings on Sand

open access: yes, 2010
The design of shallow foundations relies on bearing capacity values calculated using empirical procedures that are based in part on solutions obtained using the method of characteristics, which assumes a soil that is perfectly plastic following an ...
