Evaluation of a microbial muramidase supplementation on growth performance, apparent ileal digestibility, and intestinal histology of broiler chickens [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The current study evaluated the effects of different inclusion levels of microbial muramidase (Muramidase 007, DSM Nutritional Products) on gastrointestinal functionality by determination of apparent ileal digestibility (AID) of nutrients, investigation ...

Scientific Opinion on the safety and efficacy of iodine compounds (E2) as feed additives for all animal species: calcium iodate anhydrous, based on a dossier submitted by Calibre Europe SPRL/BVBA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Calcium iodate anhydrous is considered a safe source of iodine for all animal species/categories when used up to the currently authorised maximum content of total iodine in complete feed, with the exception of horses and dogs, for which maximum tolerated

Water Circulation and Marine Environment in the Antarctic Traced by Speciation of 129I and 127I

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Emissions of anthropogenic 129I from human nuclear activities are now detected in the surface water of the Antarctic seas. Surface seawater samples from the Drake Passage, Bellingshausen, Amundsen, and Ross Seas were analyzed for total 129I and 127I, as ...

Net community production in the North Atlantic Ocean derived from Volunteer Observing Ship data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The magnitude of marine plankton net community production (NCP) is indicative of both the biologically driven exchange of carbon dioxide between the atmosphere and the surface ocean and the export of organic carbon from the surface ocean to the ocean ...

Reduction of Chlorate, Bromate, and Iodate by Nitrous Acid

open access: yes, 1964
Reduction of bromide, chlorate, and iodate by nitrite in presence of mineral acids has been studied potentio metrically. Chlorate consumes three molten nitrite under all the conditions investigated. Bromate consumes 2.5 moles or 3.0 moles, depending on the concentration of NCl or H2SO4 present; larger concentrations favour 2.6 moles.

From Two‐Electron to Four‐Electron System: Electrolyte Regulation for Advanced Aqueous Zn–I2 Batteries

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
This review systematically summarizes recent progress in electrolyte‐regulated aqueous Zn–I2 batteries (AZIBs). It outlines the fundamentals of AZIBs along with their main challenges, and then analyzes electrolyte‐engineering strategies that improve both two‐ and four‐electron reactions.

Iodine agronomic biofortification of cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata) and cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L.) is effective under farmer field conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Iodine (I) is an essential micronutrient, which plays a critical role in human metabolism. However, its concentration is known to be low in most soils, making it deficient in crops.

Tailoring Se‐Mediated Co‐Co Dual‐Atom Sites for Oxygen and Iodide Electrocatalysis Toward High‐Efficiency and Ultradurable Zinc‐Air/Iodide Hybrid Batteries

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A Se‐mediated Co dual‐atom catalyst replaces sluggish oxygen evolution with efficient iodide oxidation in zinc‐air/iodide hybrid batteries. Se‐induced d‐p orbital hybridization optimizes adsorption, enabling a low 0.365 V voltage gap and superior durability, fundamentally overcoming conventional kinetic bottlenecks.
