Structural Responses of Aluminoborosilicate Glasses to Pressure and Iodine Incorporation: An Advanced NMR Investigation

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 9, September 2026.
Pressure densifies the glass network and enhances iodine retention, while iodine promotes local repolymerization of the silicate network. ABSTRACT Iodine‐129 is a critical challenge for nuclear waste immobilization due to its high mobility and extremely long half‐life (1.57 × 107 years).

Two‐Stage Sequential Fermentation of Oat Drink Using Saccharomyces boulardii and Lactiplantibacillus plantarum: A Promising Strategy for Developing Paraprobiotic‐Probiotic Food

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
This study presents a novel two‐stage sequential fermentation for developing a functional oat drink with dual paraprobiotic‐probiotic properties. Oat substrates pretreated with acid, alkaline, enzyme, sprouting, or their combinations were first fermented with S. boulardii, heat‐inactivated, and then re‐fermented with live L. plantarum 299v.

Soil versus foliar iodine fertilization as a biofortification strategy for field-grown vegetables

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2015
Iodine (I) biofortification of vegetables by means of soil and foliar applications was investigated in field experiments on a sandy loam soil. Supply of iodine to the soil in trial plots fertilized with potassium iodide (KI) and potassium iodate (KIO3 ...

Environmental Impacts of Perovskite Solar Cell Materials: Transparency and Reproducibility Gaps, and Reporting Recommendations

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, Volume 10, Issue 8, August 2026.
Published life cycle inventories for materials used in perovskite solar cell layers were identified through a systematic review and remodeled. The results revealed large variations in environmental impact estimates for the same materials, including methylammonium iodide and formamidinium iodide.

Bovine Milk–Derived Extracellular Vesicles as Emerging Drug Delivery Platforms: Current Advances, Applications and Challenges

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Biology, Volume 5, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are nanosized lipid bilayer particles naturally secreted by cells, mediating intercellular communication and transporting diverse bioactive molecules. Among alternative EV sources, bovine milk‐derived EVs (BMEVs) have emerged as promising platforms for drug delivery due to their accessibility, scalability ...

In Ovo Injection of Dietary Supplement: Effect on Egg Weight, Embryonic Development, Hatching, and Chick Quality Traits in Broiler Chickens

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Restricting nutrients in eggs may hinder the growth of commercial chickens, which could result in higher embryonic mortality and poor growth performance, indicating the significance of in ovo injection of dietary nutrients to support embryonic and post‐hatch growth in poultry.
