Activation of Metal Complexes With Ultrasound Waves for Targeted Anticancer Therapy

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Ultrasound enables non‐invasive activation of metal‐based therapeutics deep within tumors. Acoustic cavitation can drive sonodynamic reactive oxygen species generation or mechanochemical metal–ligand bond dissociation, enabling controlled release of bioactive payloads.

Combine iron Chelation therapy ameliorates decline of iron on iron loaded Zebrafish embryo

open access: yes, 2017
Thalassemia is the most common genetically inherited blood disorder in the world arisen from defect in hemoglobin production, resulting in ineffective erythropoiesis and rapid destruction of RBC in the periphery that leads to severe anemia.

Harnessing ferroptosis from multilayer defense networks to nanoplatforms for specific cancer therapy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Nanomaterials target metabolically‐regulated ferroptosis for cancer therapy. Iron‐based or alternative nanoplatforms integrate ferroptosis with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or radiotherapy. They enable stimulus‐responsive therapies (photothermal, photodynamic, sonodynamic) activated by near‐infrared, light, or ultrasound, achieving potent synergistic ...

Μethods of iron chelation therapy: a bibliographic review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012

Prevention of Cardiomyopathy in Transfusion-Dependent Homozygous Thalassaemia Today and the Role of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging

open access: yesAdvances in Hematology, 2009
Transfusion and iron chelation therapy revolutionised survival and reduced morbidity in patients with transfusion-dependent beta thalassaemia major. Despite these improvements, cardiac disease remained the most common cause of death in those patients ...

Integrated spherical nucleic acid nanoreactor mobilizes targeted PD‐L1 proteolysis and cuproptosis for robust breast cancer immunotherapy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
This study provides an integrated spherical nucleic acid nanoreactor (denoted as AMCuD) for targeted PD‐L1 degradation and chemo‐dynamically enhanced cuproptosis to synergically elicit robust immunotherapy against the triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) growth, recurrence and metastasis.
