Antinociceptive effect and mechanism of action of isatin, N-methyl isatin and oxopropyl isatin in mice

open access: yesLife Sciences, 2016
There has been growing interest in the synthesis of new derivatives from isatin, found in Isatis genus. Our objectives were to characterize the antinociceptive mechanism of action of isatin, N-methyl-isatin (MI) and N-methyl-3-(2-oxopropyl)-3-hydroxy-2-oxindole (MOI).Substances (0.1-10mg/kg, p.o.) were studied in chemical (paw licking induced by ...

Effect of Structure on Charge Distribution in the Isatin Anions in Aprotic Environment: Spectral Study

open access: yesMolecules, 2017
Five isatin anions were prepared by deprotonation of initial isatins in aprotic solvents using basic fluoride and acetate anions (F− and CH3COO−). The F− basicity is sufficient to deprotonate isatin NH hydrogen from all the studied compounds.

The effects of isatin (indole-2, 3-dione) on pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide-induced hyperthermia in rats

open access: yesBMC Neuroscience, 2002
Background Previous studies have demonstrated that centrally administered natriuretic peptides and pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide-38 (PACAP-38) have hyperthermic properties.

The influence of Schiff base inclusion complexes with β-cyclodextrine on antibiotic production by Streptomyces hygroscopicus CH-7 [PDF]

open access: yesHemijska Industrija, 2015
A media consisting of isatin-Schiff bases and its inclusion complexes with β-cyclodextrine was developed to maximize the production of antibiotics Hexaene H-85 and Azalomycine β by Streptomyces hygroscopicus CH-7.

Reductive 1,2-Arylation of Isatins

open access: yesOrganic Letters, 2022
We report an intermolecular Ni-catalyzed reductive coupling of aryl iodides and isatins to form 3-hydroxyoxindoles. In contrast to common metal-mediated methods, sec-butanol is used as a mild stoichiometric reductant resulting in benign waste products.
