Multicomponent Reactions with Isocyanides

Angewandte Chemie, 2000
Multicomponent reactions (MCRs) are fundamentally different from two-component reactions in several aspects. Among the MCRs, those with isocyanides have developed into popular organic-chemical reactions in the pharmaceutical industry for the preparation of compound libraries of low-molecular druglike compounds.

Isocyanide Based Multi Component Reactions in Combinatorial Chemistry

open access: yesCombinatorial Chemistry and High Throughput Screening, 1998
Although usually regarded as a recent development, the combinatorial approach to the synthesis of libraries of new drug candidates was first described as early as 1961 using the isocyanide-based one-pot multicomponent Ugi reaction. Isocyanide-based multi

The synthesis and cyclic voltammetry of select ferrocene piano-stool isocyanide complexes

open access: yesInorganica Chimica Acta, 2011
Ferrocene piano-stool isocyanide complexes ([CpFeL3] +, Cp = η5-C5H5, L = tert-butyl isocyanide (1), cyclohexyl isocyanide (2), and 2,6-dimethylphenyl isocyanide (3)) are formed by chemical oxidation of ferrocene in the presence of a stoichiometric ...

Microchemical detection of isocyanides

Talanta, 1967
Microgram quantities of isocyanides may be easily detected on filter paper or in tubes of silica gel by using benzidine acetate-copper(II) acetate or p,p'-tetramethyldiaminodiphenylmethane-copper(II) sulphate reagents. Interferences include those substances which are known to interfere in the use of the same reagents for the detection of hydrogen ...

Synthesis of α-Amino Isocyanides and α-Alkylthio Isocyanides

Synthesis, 1993
α-Morpholinobenzyl isocyanide and three 1-(aryl[or alkyl]thio)alkyl isocyanides are synthesized in good yields by the dehydration of N-(α-morpholinobenzyl)formamide and N-[1-(alkylthio)alkyl]formamides, themselves prepared from 1-(1-formylaminoalkyl)benzotriazoles with morpholine or with ...

The photoelectron spectra of methyl isocyanide and trideutero-methyl isocyanide

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular Spectroscopy, 1971
Abstract The photoelectron spectra of methyl isocyanide and its d3- analogue have been measured. Ionisation potentials from three molecular orbitals in each case have been determined in the range 6–20eV, and the nature of these orbitals has been suggested from a consideration of the vibrations excited during the ionisation processes.

Homoleptic Isocyanide Metalates

Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 1998
Novelties and surprises in the chemistry of metal isocyanides: The synthesis and structure determination of homoleptic isocyanide metalates [M(CNXyl)m ]- (M=Co, m=4; M=Mn, m=5; Xyl=2,6-Me2 C6 H3 ) indicate that we need to revise our understanding of transition metal-isocyanide interactions.
