Isoquinolines from the Roots of Thalictrum flavum L. and Their Evaluation as Antiparasitic Compounds
Alkaloids from Thalictrum flavum L. (Ranuculaceae) growing in the Loire valley (France) were isolated and evaluated for their antiplasmodial and leishmanicidal activities.

Syntheses, transformations and applications of aminonaphthol derivatives prepared via modified Mannich reactions [PDF]
A special alteration is the three-component modi fi ed Mannich reaction (mMR), in which formaldehyde is replaced by an aromatic aldehyde, the secondary amine by ammonia, and the C e H acid by an electron-rich aromatic compound such as 1- or 2 ...

The photoinduced decarboxylative radical addition of aryl carboxylic acids, including heteroaromatic carboxylic acids, to electron‐deficient alkenes is achieved in a two‐molecule photoredox system using a combination of biphenyl and 9,10‐dicyanoanthracene without heating or base.

Mitochondria are vital for energy production and rely on intricate nucleic acid structures to regulate gene expression. Using DNP‐ssNMR (dynamic nuclear polarization solid‐state NMR), we observed G‐quadruplex formation in intact mitochondria treated with berberine.

Synthesis of Pyrrolo[2,1-a]isoquinolines by Multicomponent 1,3-Dipolar Cycloaddition
Pyrrolo[2,1-a]isoquinoline derivatives were synthesized by one-pot three-component reactions starting from isoquinoline, 2-bromoacetophenones and different non-symmetrical acetylenic dipolarophiles using 1,2-epoxypropane as solvent.

We developed the allylation of ketones using simple alkenes promoted by a chromocene catalyst and an ion‐pair hydrogen atom transfer (IP‐HAT) catalyst. This catalytic system can be applied to a wide range of ketones, including aliphatic ketones. The reaction proceeds under mild conditions with high functional group tolerance.

TRANSFORMATION OF 2-BENZOYLAMINO-1-(?-NAPHTHYL)PROPAN-1-OL INTO 4-METHYL-1-PHENYL BENZO[f] ISOQUINOLINE RATHER THAN ITS 3-SUBSTITUTED ISOMER [PDF]
The necessary conditions to transform hydroxyamide (1) and 2-oxazolines (2, 3) into 3- or 4-methyl benzo[f] isoquinolines (4, 5) has been established. The mechanism of these reactions has been proposed claiming the existence of the protonated 2-oxazoline

Australian guidelines for equine internal parasite management
Over the past few decades, the emergence of resistance amongst intestinal parasites of horses to all available anthelmintic classes has emphasised the need for a paradigm shift in parasite control approaches within the Australian equine industry. Findings of a recent Australia‐wide research project have provided new insights into intestinal parasites ...
