Early Prediction of Battery Lifetime Using Centered Isotonic Regression with Quantile-Transformed Features

open access: yesBatteries
The rapid development of lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries has raised requirements for cycle life prediction to ensure safety and reliability. However, the intricate and nonlinear behavior of the battery degradation process poses significant challenges in ...

Resistance training load does not determine resistance training‐induced hypertrophy across upper and lower limbs in healthy young males

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend In healthy young males, we found that skeletal muscle hypertrophy following a period of resistance exercise training (RET) was consistent within and between subjects, as assessed using a variety of established methods. The skeletal muscle hypertrophic response was independent of external load.

Dexamethasone Versus Placebo in Comatose Survivors of Out‐of‐Hospital Cardiac Arrest: Study Protocol for a Multicenter Randomized Comparison Within the Danish Out‐of‐Hospital Cardiac Arrest Trial (DANOHCA)

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Volume 70, Issue 7, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The inflammatory response to whole‐body ischemia, as seen in comatose survivors after out‐of‐hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA), is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Early high‐dose dexamethasone may dampen the inflammatory response, which may diminish secondary brain damage and other organ injury and decrease mortality.

A Probabilistic Interpretation of the Relative Energy Difference in Hansen Solubility Theory

open access: yesMacromolecular Theory and Simulations, Volume 35, Issue 4, July 2026.
The relative energy difference (RED) is reformulated as a probabilistic descriptor, replacing the classical sharp solubility boundary with a continuous transition in Hansen space. The approach captures partial compatibility and reveals consistent solubility domains by aligning optimized models with data‐driven decision boundaries.

Osteoarthritis: Epidemiology, Diagnosis, and Treatment

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a multifactorial degenerative joint disease and a leading cause of disability worldwide. This graphical abstract summarizes the epidemiology, diagnostic strategies, and therapeutic approaches of OA. OA development is driven by aging, metabolic dysregulation, and mechanical stress, leading to progressive joint degeneration ...

Magnetic Resonance Imaging at 14 Tesla of Prostate Biopsies Obtained after Prostatectomy

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 7, July 2026.
Fresh prostate biopsies were imaged using a 14 T vertical bore MRI scanner, and the effects of long gradient separation Δ (10–400 ms) were explored. At Δ longer than 10 ms, the percentage of voxels where the Akaike information criteria (AICc) favored a monoexponential model increased, and the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) lowered compared to Δ ...

A Knowledge Base of Designs and Statistical Methods for Adaptive Clinical Dose‐Finding Trials

open access: yesPharmaceutical Statistics, Volume 25, Issue 4, July/August 2026.
ABSTRACT Adaptive clinical dose‐finding trials aim to identify an optimal drug dose for use in subsequent phase II and III trials. In adaptive dose‐finding trials, dose levels for newly included patients are informed by outcomes of patients that received the drug earlier in the trial.

Effects of Norbixin on Growth Performance, Immunomodulation, Antioxidant Systems, and Metabolic Alterations in the Oriental River Prawn (Macrobrachium nipponense): An Integrative Analysis

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
Dietary norbixin (0.15 g/kg) optimally promotes growth, immunocompetence, antioxidant defence, gut microbial balance, carotenoid accumulation, and overall nutritional quality in Macrobrachium nipponense. ABSTRACT Background Natural carotenoids have gained considerable attention in aquaculture due to their potential to enhance growth performance ...
