Recent Developments in Sustainable Solubilization

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 8, 28 April 2026.
We highlight several recent developments in sustainable solubilization. Particular attention is given to the use of bio‐based solvents derived from renewable resources, the strategic use of water as a solvent, and alternative, sustainable solubilizers such as hydrotropes.

Marine lipopeptide Iturin A inhibits Akt mediated GSK3β and FoxO3a signaling and triggers apoptosis in breast cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Akt kinase is a critical component of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway, which is frequently over expressed in human cancers including breast. Therapeutic regimens for inhibiting breast cancer with aberrant Akt activity are essential.

Cassava Endophytic Bacteriome as Potential Biocontrol Agents Against Three Crop Phytopathogenic Fungi

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 2, April 2026.
Eighty‐four endophytic bacteria from cassava were assessed for antagonistic activity against phytopathogens Colletotrichum siamense, Colletotrichum sublineola and Phytophthora infestans infecting cassava, sorghum and potato, respectively. Fourteen endophytic bacteria exhibited antifungal activity against the three phytopathogens, of which four ...

The Profile and Antimicrobial Activity of Bacillus Lipopeptide Extracts of Five Potential Biocontrol Strains

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2017
In this study the efficacy of two different methods for extracting lipopeptides produced by five Bacillus strains-ethyl acetate extraction, and acid precipitation followed by methanol extraction—was investigated using mass spectrometry.

Iturin AL - A new long chain iturin a possessing an unusual high content of C16-.BETA.-amino acids.

open access: yesThe Journal of Antibiotics, 1983
From a strain of Bacillus subtilis a new antifungal peptidolipid complex of the iturin group was isolated. This antibiotic complex contained six lipophilic beta-amino acids with 3-amino-14-methylpentanoic acid as the predominant component. Iturin AL contains: 2 D-Asp, 1 L-Asp, 1 L-Glu, 1 L-Pro, 1 L-Ser, 1 D-Tyr and a mixture of 2.9% iso-C14-beta-amino ...

Analysis of Bacterial Wilt Management Strategies From the Dynamic Perspective of Environmental Adaptation Approaches of Ralstonia solanacearum

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology Reports, Volume 18, Issue 2, April 2026.
This review reframes bacterial wilt management by analysing control strategies through the lens of the pathogen's evolutionary, physiological and ecological adaptations. This mechanism‐based approach links pathogen traits to control efficacy, guiding the development of more durable solutions.
