Abstract Background Periodontal disease affects people globally, requiring approaches to halt progression at the gingivitis stage. Researchers have investigated live probiotics; we studied the effect of a heat‐inactivated preparation (postbiotic) of Lactiplantibacillus pentosus ONRICb0240 on gingival inflammation.

ABSTRACT Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) has emerged as the most prevalent chronic liver disease worldwide, closely linked to the global rising incidence of obesity and metabolic syndrome. This review synthesizes current evidence on the pathogenesis, gut–liver axis, and multidisciplinary management of MASLD within the ...

A retrospective study on patients with pyogenic liver abscesses was conducted to clarify the different clinical presentations among patients with Klebsiella pneumoniae abscesses and those with non-K. pneumoniae abscesses. From 1981 to 1993, the medical records of 146 adults with culture-confirmed pyogenic liver abscesses who attended Tri-Service ...

Bio‐derived lignin–Eosin Y macromolecular networks are developed as visible‐light‐responsive self‐sterilizing coatings that generate reactive oxygen species without leaching. The spray‐coated photopolymerized surfaces exhibit durable antibacterial and antiviral activity under ambient light for extended periods, demonstrating a scalable and sustainable ...

Structural studies on the sialidases from Streptococcus pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa
The sialidases are a group of glycosyl hydrolases that specifically remove terminal sialic acid (Neu5Ac) residues from various glycans. In the two common human pathogenic bacteria Streptococcus pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, these enzymes have
