Association of Kappa casein gene polymorphism with milk production traits in crossbred dairy cows

open access: yesCiência Animal Brasileira, 2023
Milk's qualitative and technological properties are greatly affected by genetic polymorphisms in the kappa-casein gene, and their polymorphisms may serve as informative markers of yield and composition.

Effect of wheat gluten and extracted, protected soybean meal addition to the diet of cows with different beta-lactoglobulin genotypes on the composition and physical properties of milk

open access: yesCzech Journal of Animal Science, 2009
The effect of wheat gluten or extracted soybean meal (300 g of crude protein/head/day) on milk yield, composition and its physical properties was analysed in 53 cows of Polish Holstein-Friesian breed with different milk beta-lactoglobulin (blg) genotypes

A Phosphorylation‐Induced Micellization Switch in the Low‐Complexity Domain of TDP‐43

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phosphorylation of TAR DNA‐binding protein's 43 kDa (TDP‐43) low‐complexity domain by casein kinase 1 delta (CK1δ) acts as a molecular switch, redirecting its self‐assembly from macroscopic phase separation toward finite‐sized, spherical block‐copolymer micelles of ∼30 nm.

RELATIONS BETWEEN KAPPA-CASEIN POLYMORPHISM (CSN3) AND MILK PERFORMANCE TRAITS IN HEIFER COWS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Central European Agriculture, 2009
The undertaken study aimed at determining relations between kappa-casein polymorphism and milk performance traits in population of 304 Holstein-Friesian heifer cows bred in fi ve herds in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region.

Protein–Anthocyanin Interactions in Food Systems: A Reaction‐Network Perspective on Equilibria, Kinetics, and Degradation Pathways

open access: yesChemFoodChem, EarlyView.
Protein–anthocyanin interactions are reinterpreted beyond binding affinity through a reaction‐network perspective. Distinct protein classes modulate anthocyanin behavior through equilibrium shifts, matrix‐driven protection, self‐assembly, or covalent conjugation.

EVALUATION OF STUD BULLS BY THE KAPPA-CASEIN GENOTYPE IN THE CONTEXT OF CONSERVATION OF LOCAL BROWN CATTLE BREEDS IN UKRAINE [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Papers Series : Management, Economic Engineering in Agriculture and Rural Development, 2023
Genotyping of 47 stud bulls of Brown breeds was carried out by the gene CSN3. The results of scientific studies indicate that both Brown purebred and cross-breed cattle bred in Ukraine are characterized by a significant difference in the frequency of ...

Effects of Histidine Modification on Kappa-casein

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1973
Abstract Chemical modifications of histidine by 2-phenyl-l,4-dibromoacetoin (PDA), α -N-bromoacetyl-arginine methyl ester (BAA), and diethylpyrocarbonate were carried out to evaluate the role of histidine in the κ -casein molecules in stabilizing Ca- α sl -caseinate and in its susceptibility to rennin action.

Protocol for Reconstituting Adaptor‐Mediated Activation of Full‐Length Kinesin‐1

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Kinesin‐1 is a member of the kinesin superfamily that plays an essential role in intracellular cargo transport. In the absence of cargo, Kinesin‐1 exhibits low motor activity due to autoinhibition. Multiple studies have demonstrated that adaptor proteins, which link cargos to Kinesin‐1, can activate Kinesin‐1 by releasing the autoinhibition ...
