Rank Theorems for Forward Secrecy in Group Key Management Protocols [PDF]

open access: yes21st International Conference on Advanced Information Networking and Applications Workshops (AINAW'07), 2007
Design and verification of cryptographic protocols has been under investigation for quite sometime. However, little has been done for the class of protocols that deals with group key management and distribution, and have special security properties, such as forward secrecy. In this paper, we define a formal model and establish rank theorems for forward

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

Key Rank Estimation Methods: Comparisons and Practical Considerations

open access: yesIACR Communications in Cryptology
New proposals for scalable key rank estimation methods have appeared recently, in particular the sampling based approach MCRank. The idea is that one can consistently estimate the key rank by sampling only a small portion of the key space as a “proxy”, leading to both an accurate and scalable approach, at least in comparison with another approach based

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

A LEARNING CURVE THEORY PERSPECTIVE ON PROJECTS. RANKING THE KEY DETERMINANTS TO IMPROVE PROJECT EFFICIENCY

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Industrial Engineering, 2019
The desire to gain knowledge about the quality and timing of construction projects delivered to clients has become an increased focus point in the field of construction management. Clients have expectations that are often based on their assumptions about

Matrix factorization-based multi-objective ranking-What makes a good university?

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
Non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) efficiently reduces high dimensionality for many-objective ranking problems. In multi-objective optimization, as long as only three or four conflicting viewpoints are present, an optimal solution can be determined ...

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.
