The time-dependent localization of Ki 67 antigen-positive cells in human skin wounds [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
A total of 77 human skin wounds with a post-infliction interval between 3 h and 7 months were investigated and the proliferation marker antigen Ki 67 was visualized in paraffin sections using a specific monoclonal antibody (MIB).

Flash Assembloids: A Rapid Biofabrication of a Platform for Modeling Early Glioblastoma Invasion at the Glioblastoma–Brain Organoid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioengineered assembloid (ASM) system combining glioblastoma (GBM) cells in oxidized alginate (OA) microgels with dorsal organoids (DOs). This model simulates brain tumor‐host interactions, revealing enhanced GBM invasion, altered gene expression, and aggressive infiltration patterns, demonstrating ASM as a valuable platform for ...

Antibodies and anti-antibodies specific to estradiol and progesterone and tumor proliferation in breast cancer patients

open access: yesСибирский онкологический журнал
The study was aimed to determine the interrelations between levels of serum antibodies specific to estradiol and progesterone (IgA1-E2 and IgA1-Pg) and corresponding antiidiotypic antibodies (IgG2-E2 and IgG2-Pg) and tumor Ki67 positive cells in breast ...

A synthetic-lethality RNAi screen reveals an ERK-mTOR co-targeting pro-apoptotic switch in PIK3CA+ oral cancers. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
mTOR inhibition has emerged as a promising strategy for head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC) treatment. However, most targeted therapies ultimately develop resistance due to the activation of adaptive survival signaling mechanisms limiting the ...

Identification Of Mitotically Competent SOX2+ Cells In White Matter Of Normal Human Adult Brain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
SOX2 expression is linked to the undifferentiated state of stem cells in mammalian neurogenic niches. While its expression has been reported in the adult human subventricular zone (SVZ), to date it has not been detected in adult human white matter.

The zinc finger transcription factor PW1/PEG3 restrains murine beta cell cycling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Aims/hypothesis: Pw1 or paternally-expressed gene 3 (Peg3) encodes a zinc finger transcription factor that is widely expressed during mouse embryonic development and later restricted to multiple somatic stem cell lineages in the adult.

Wound Geometry Determines Whether Aligned‐Fiber Scaffolds Accelerate or Impede Diabetic Wound Healing: A Biased Random Walk Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Wound closure is governed by geometry‐orientation coupling: aligned fibers speed migration along their axis but hinder perpendicular advance. In vivo diabetic wound experiments with composition‐matched fibrin, combined with an anisotropic diffusion (biased random‐walk) model, quantify this trade‐off and generate a healing landscape.

Human breast milk stem cells: a new challenge for perinatologists

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric and Neonatal Individualized Medicine, 2016
The lactating mammary gland contains a stem cells population with multilineage potentialities. Recently it was also shown that breast milk contains a heterogeneous population of stem cells that have the potential to differentiate in vitro, under the ...
