Preserved gait kinematics during controlled body unloading

open access: yesJournal of NeuroEngineering and Rehabilitation, 2017
Body weight supported locomotor training was shown to improve walking function in neurological patients and is often performed on a treadmill. However, walking on a treadmill does not mimic natural walking for several reasons: absent self-initiation, less active retraction of leg required and altered afferent input.

Design Strategies and Emerging Applications of High‐Performance Flexible Piezoresistive Pressure Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Flexible piezoresistive pressure sensors underpin wearable and soft electronics. This review links sensing physics, including contact resistance modulation, quantum tunneling and percolation, to unified materials/structure design. We highlight composite and graded architectures, interfacial/porous engineering, and microstructured 3D conductive networks

Global kinematics for manipulator planning and control [PDF]

open access: yesTwenty-Third Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 1989., 1989
This paper reviews one method of global kinematic analysis, based on a manifold mapping reformulation of manipulator kinematics, which is suitable for both non-redundant and redundant serial chain manipulators. Two applications of this approach are considered: the relationship between changing pose and singularities for non-redundant manipulators and ...

Texoskeletons: Developing the Fundamental Technologies for Creating Intelligent Soft Robotic Clothing With Integrated 1D Sensors and Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Traditional wearable exoskeletons rely on rigid structures, which limit comfort, flexibility, and everyday usability. This work introduces the fundamental technologies to create the first soft, lightweight, intelligent textile‐based exoskeletons (Texoskeletons) built using 1D sensors and actuators.
