Collective Interactions in an Array of Atoms Coupled to a Nanophotonic Waveguide
A lattice of trapped atoms strongly coupled to a one-dimensional nanophotonic waveguide is investigated in exploiting the concept of polariton as the system natural eigenstate. We apply a bosonization procedure, which was presented separately by P.

Kinematic and Control Issues on Tendon Controlled Wrist Mechanism.
A tendon-controlled mechanism has more actuators than its degrees of freedom. The redundancy enables us to reduce mechanical backlash, avoid near zero tendon forces, where the control accuracy goes down, and adjust the mechanical compliance at the expense of some cancellationn of torques.

Drawing inspiration from the layered hard‐soft architecture found in sea sponges, this work establishes a new framework for architected cementitious composites (ACC) through multi‐material additive manufacturing (MMAM) process. The integration of mortar and elastomer phases into layered architectures enables synergistic toughening mechanisms, including

A Smooth Distributed Feedback for Global Rendezvous of Unicycles
This paper presents a solution to the rendezvous control problem for a network of kinematic unicycles in the plane, each equipped with an onboard camera measuring its relative displacement with respect to its neighbors in body frame coordinates. A smooth,

Triply‐twinned architected lattices transform deformation from bending to stretching of struts, delivering up to threefold increases in stiffness and strength across polymeric and metallic systems. High‐resolution synchrotron XCT and image‐based simulations reveal how meta‐grain architecture, defects, and AM build orientation govern failure pathways ...

A Soft-Switching Type-3 Fuzzy Control for Electrically Driven Nonholonomic Robots
The wheeled mobile robots (WMRs) are used in extensive fields because of their simple structure and high efficiency. Due to the different applications of WMRs in different problems, the control problem of WMRs is challenging.
