Dynein‐Dependent Endo‐Lysosomal Degradation Drives Lewy Body Disorders Accompanied by Aβ Pathology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 37, October 6, 2025.
This study investigates the impact of Aβ plaques on α‐synuclein (αSyn) pathologies in dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). Co‐culturing primary neurons with AD mouse brain slices reveals impaired dynein‐dependent organelle trafficking, affecting αSyn degradation. Activating Rab7 restores this process, reducing αSyn inclusions.

Activation of Lysosomal Retrograde Transport Triggers TPC1‐IP3R1 Ca2+ Crosstalk at Lysosome‐ER MCSs Leading to Lethal Depleting of ER Calcium

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 39, October 20, 2025.
The flavonoid compound LW‐213 exerts its antitumor effects through a novel mechanism involving lysosomal‐ER calcium regulation. Specifically, LW‐213 binds to LIMP2, which induces perinuclear clustering of lysosomes and facilitates calcium‐mediated lysosome‐ER interactions.

Direct Sequencing of 5‐Methylcytosine and 5‐Hydroxymethylcytosine at Single‐Base Resolution Unravels Their Distinct Roles in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 38, October 13, 2025.
This study introduces two orthogonal sequencing methods, CMD1‐Deaminase sequencing (CD‐seq) and CMD1‐TET bisulfite sequencing (CT‐seq), that enable direct, independent detection of 5mC. Using these approaches together with ACE‐seq or TAB‐seq for 5hmC identification, the study reveals a significant reduction in 5hmC, but not 5mC, in the hippocampus of ...

Soybean Synergies: A Comprehensive Review on Novel Extraction Techniques and Their Role in Unlocking Health Potential

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 10, October 2025.
Almost 18%–22% of soybean is comprised of tiny, stable oil bodies with a concentration of triacylglycerol, rich in bioactive substances. These oil bodies of soybean consist of oleosins, oleosins, and steroleosin as part of the monolayer of phospholipids.

Different Contribution of Missense and Loss‐of‐Function Variants to the Genetic Structure of Familial and Sporadic Meniere Disease

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 10, October 2025.
This study examines the genetic basis of sporadic (SMD) and familial Meniere disease (FMD) by comparing rare protein‐coding variants using exome sequencing and gene burden analysis. FMD patients had a higher accumulation of missense and LoF variants, especially in genes linked to auditory and vestibular function.

Diabetic Wound Repair: From Mechanism to Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 10, October 2025.
Diabetic wound healing is compromised by chronic metabolic dysfunction that disrupts essential cellular processes. This review examines key predisposing factors, including neuropathy and vascular disease, characterizes dysfunction in critical cell types such as macrophages and fibroblasts, evaluates limitations of current models, compares established ...
