Preductal postductal oxygen saturation gradient in preterm infants immediately after birth: Effect of gestational age on achievement of target saturation

open access: yesAsian Journal of Medical Sciences, 2023
Background: The delivery room oxygen saturation (SpO2) monitoring in neonates is based on studies in term infants. Study of preductal-postductal SpO2 gradient in healthy preterms immediately after birth will help in follow-up of an abnormal gradient ...

Muscle Tear and Subsequent Muscle Infarction in a Patient With Uncontrolled Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

open access: yesAnnals of Internal Medicine: Clinical Cases
Diabetes mellitus is associated with multiple microvascular and macrovascular complications. Musculoskeletal complications, such as diabetic muscle infarction, diabetic tendinopathy, Dupuytren contracture, cheiroarthropathy, and adhesive capsulitis ...

Efficacy and safety of insulin degludec in renal transplant recipients with pre-existing diabetes

open access: yesEndocrine and Metabolic Science, 2021
Introduction: Glycemic control is important in renal transplant receptions with diabetes. In the early post-transplant period, recovering renal function and concomitant steroids and immunosuppressants increase the risk of dysglycemia which adversely ...

Natural variants modify Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase (KPC) acyl–enzyme conformational dynamics to extend antibiotic resistance

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2020
Class A serine β-lactamases (SBLs) are key antibiotic resistance determinants in Gram-negative bacteria. SBLs neutralize β-lactams via a hydrolytically labile covalent acyl–enzyme intermediate.

Structural and Mechanistic Basis for Extended-Spectrum Drug-Resistance Mutations in Altering the Specificity of TEM, CTX-M, and KPC β-lactamases

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Biosciences, 2018
The most common mechanism of resistance to β-lactam antibiotics in Gram-negative bacteria is the production of β-lactamases that hydrolyze the drugs.

Tumor‐Derived LAMB3 Drives Immunosuppressive LRRC15+ Fibroblast Formation During Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A single‐cell atlas of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma development reveals progressive ductal‐fibroblast‐immune crosstalk. Tumor‐derived LAMB3 drives the formation of immunosuppressive LRRC15+ fibroblasts through the ITGB1/FAK/MAPK/FOSL2 signaling. Glycolytic reprogramming upregulates LAMB3 and correlates with LRRC15+ fibroblast enrichment.

Carbapenem-Resistant KPC- and TEM-Producing Escherichia coli ST131 Isolated from a Hospitalized Patient with Urinary Tract Infection: First Isolation in Molise Region, Central Italy, July 2018

open access: yesMicrobial Drug Resistance, 2020
In July 2018, a Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase (KPC)-producing Escherichia coli ST131 was isolated from a patient admitted to the Vascular Surgery Unit of the main hospital of Molise region, Central Italy. Sequencing and alignment with the available

Inhibition of Focal Adhesion Restricts Chemoresistance in Pancreatic Cancer by Targeting SLC7A11 Mediated Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FAK signaling drives chemoresistance and tumor evolution in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. The FAK inhibitor IN10018 restores gemcitabine sensitivity by inducing SLC7A11‐mediated ferroptosis through the PI3K‐Akt pathway and remodeling the tumor microenvironment, reducing mesenchymal components while enhancing CD8+ T‐cell infiltration in preclinical ...

The central kpc of edge-on AGN [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of Nuclei of Seyfert galaxies and QSOs - Central engine & conditions of star formation — PoS(Seyfert 2012), 2013
The NIR is less influenced by dust extinction than optical light. This enables us to look to an extent through dusty regions. In addition, it is sensitive to the mass-dominating stellar population. The combination of NIR imaging and spectroscopy of the VLT integral field spectrograph SINFONI gives us the opportunity to analyze several emission and ...
