Taxonomy and phylogeny of Myxobolus branchiostegi sp. nov. (Myxozoa, Myxosporea) infecting the gallbladder of Branchiostegus argentatus Cuvier, 1830 from the East China Sea [PDF]

open access: yes
Myxobolus branchiostegi sp. nov. was detected in the gallbladder of six out of 28 specimens (21.4%) of Branchiostegus argentatus Cuvier, 1830 from the East China Sea. This is the first record of a Myxobolus species infecting this host.

Molecular Epidemiological Analysis of Kudoa septempunctata by Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA Analysis.

open access: yesJapanese journal of infectious diseases, 2016
Molecular epidemiological analysis of Kudoa septempunctata isolates from 34 olive flounders associated with foodborne disease outbreaks and from 6 reference samples was performed using random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis. The K. septempunctata isolates analyzed in this study were divided into 8 groups.

Inter-Laboratory Study to Validate New Rapid Screening Methods for Kudoa septempunctata.

open access: yesBiocontrol science, 2017
Kudoa septempunctata is the causative agent of a food-borne disease associated with the ingestion of raw olive flounder. As the current qRT-PCR method for its detection is time-consuming, a rapid and simple method is required. Recently, a new real-time loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) method and an immunochromatography method, whose ...

New validated rapid screening methods for identifying Kudoa septempunctata in olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus).

open access: yesJapanese journal of infectious diseases, 2015
Kudoa septempunctata is a newly identified causative agent of foodborne diseases associated with consuming raw olive flounder. Qualitative PCR and quantitative real-time PCR have been used as notification methods to identify K. septempunctata in Japan. However, these methods require expensive equipment and are time-consuming (2-3 h for screening).
