CLINICAL AND IMMUNOLOGICAL CHANGES IN TREATMENT OF ADENOMYOSIS IN PATIENTS WITH INFERTILITY

open access: yesКубанский научный медицинский вестник, 2017
Aim. The aim of this study was to asses changes of adhesion molecules (L-selectin, neopterin and interleukin-6) in patients with adenomyosis-related infertility during the therapy.Materials and methods.

Tropomyosin 1 Promotes Platelet Adhesion and Clot Contraction Separate from Its Roles in Developmental Hematopoiesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Genome‐wide association studies (GWAS) link the Tropomyosin 1 (Tpm1) locus to quantitative blood trait variation, but related mechanisms are unclear. Tpm1 encodes an actin‐binding protein that regulates actin filament diversity, cell adhesion, signaling, and actomyosin contractility.

Lyophilized Synthetic Platelets: In Vitro Characterization and in Vivo Evaluation in Mouse Thrombocytopenia Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Platelet transfusions to treat bleeding complications use donor‐derived platelets stored at room‐temperature, that have a shelf‐life of only 5–7 days due to bacterial contamination risks. Cold‐stored and freeze‐dried platelets are being investigated for extending shelf‐life, but these still have the inherent challenge of donor‐dependency.

ADAM-17-independent shedding of L-selectin [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Leukocyte Biology, 2003
Abstract L-selectin is expressed by leukocytes and facilitates their adhesion under flow along the walls of blood vessels. As do a variety of membrane proteins, L-selectin undergoes ectodomain shedding. Using approaches that monitor full-length L-selectin in short-term assays, it has been determined that L-selectin shedding is defective ...

Biomimetic Bone Marrow Monocyte Membrane‐Fused Extracellular Vesicles for Targeted Therapy of Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a biomimetic delivery system (M‐hEV) by fusing monocyte membranes with extracellular vesicles for targeted therapy of damaged cardiac tissue. The system homes to injured myocardium through specific molecular pathways. In a myocardial infarction model, M‐hEV effectively accumulates in the heart, reduces infarct size, alleviates ...

Chemoattractant Receptor-induced Phosphorylation of L-selectin [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1997
The selectin adhesion molecules and chemoattractant receptors synergistically regulate leukocyte migration into lymphoid tissues and sites of inflammation, but little is known about how these families of receptors modulate each other's function. In this study, L-selectin was found to be phosphorylated in lymphoblastoid cell lines, and phosphorylation ...

Hemoglobin's α‐Helix‐to‐β‐Sheet Transition Enables Targeted mRNA Delivery to the Lung

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Acidic heating converts hemoglobin into β‐sheet‐rich fibrils with positively charged surfaces. These hemoglobin fibrils electrostatically complex IL‐11 scFv mRNA, selectively bind circulating platelets, and hitchhike to the lung, where they are enriched in fibroblasts.

Interrelationship of Multiple Endothelial Dysfunction Biomarkers with Chronic Kidney Disease. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
The interrelationship of multiple endothelial biomarkers and chronic kidney disease (CKD) has not been well studied. We measured asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA), L-arginine, soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1), soluble vascular ...

CD177 Deficiency Defines a Stable Subtype of Human Neutrophil Granulocytes with Tumor Promoting Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Human neutrophils exist as two epigenetically imprinted subtypes defined by stable CD177 expression or absence — a ratio that persists across time, circadian rhythms, and inflammation. CD177− neutrophils display a distinct molecular landscape enriched in arginase 1 and lipid metabolism markers, accumulate in head‐and‐neck tumors, and associate with ...

Pathogenic PF4/Polyanion ELISA‐Negative Antibodies in HIT

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Platelet factor 4‐polyanion enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) are considered highly sensitive for diagnosing heparin‐induced thrombocytopenia (HIT), such that current practice guidelines recommend use of ELISA‐negative results to exclude HIT.
