Inducible expression of a gene encoding an L41 ribosomal protein responsible for the cycloheximide-resistant phenotype in the yeast Candida maltosa

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1995
In a previous paper (S. Kawai, S. Murao, M. Mochizuki, I. Shibuya, K. Yano, and M. Takagi, J. Bacteriol. 174:254-262, 1992), we showed that in each genome of several yeast species, there is one of two types of L41 gene, one for an L41 (Q-type) protein which confers cycloheximide (CYH) resistance or one for an L41 (P-type) protein which does not.

Observations of B335 in the Millimeter Continuum and the 226 GHz H2CO Line

open access: yes, 2007
The protostar B335 was observed in the 1.3 mm continuum and in the H2CO 312 - 211 line with an angular resolution of about 8 arcsec. The mass of the inner envelope detected by the dust continuum emission is about 0.02 Msun.

Pleistocene Climate Changes and Lineage Diversification of Sphenarium Grasshoppers (Orthoptera: Pyrgomorphidae)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2025.
We investigate the phylogeographic history and paleodistribution patterns of four closely related grasshopper species of the genus Sphenarium to test the relative impact of Pleistocene climate fluctuations on their diversification. We found that each species responded differently to these fluctuations, but their divergence, distribution, and ...

Évaluation de la résistance aux nématodes à kystes des céréales, Heterodera avenae dans les lignées élites marocaines de blé dur et blé tendre

open access: yesAfrican and Mediterranean Agricultural Journal - Al Awamia

Delayed Gev Emission from Cosmological Gamma-Ray Bursts : Impact of a Relativistic Wind on External Matter

open access: yes, 1994
Sudden collapse of a compact object, or coalescence of a compact binary, can generate an unsteady relativistic wind that lasts for a few seconds. The wind is likely to carry a high magnetic field; and its Lorentz factor depends on the extent to which it ...

Use of saline‐soaked bacterial culture swabs increases bacterial recovery in dogs with superficial bacterial folliculitis

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 36, Issue 5, Page 621-629, October 2025.
Background – Canine superficial bacterial folliculitis (SBF) is a common recurrent condition with a growing requirement for culture and susceptibility as a consequence of increased antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial stewardship. Different opinions persist about the ideal technique for culture sample acquisition, which varies with lesion ...

The fate of (phantom) dark energy universe with string curvature corrections

open access: yes, 2005
We study the evolution of (phantom) dark energy universe by taking into account the higher-order string corrections to Einstein-Hilbert action with a fixed dilaton.

Displacement and quantification without representation

open access: yesMind &Language, Volume 40, Issue 4, Page 418-436, September 2025.
Perry and Recanati have argued that thought and speech can concern entities that they do not represent. This is possible because speakers and thinkers are pragmatically situated within their environs. I argue that thought and speech can go much farther than that.
