Design Principles and Impact of a Learning Analytics Dashboard: Evidence from a Randomized MOOC Experiment

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Learning Analytics Dashboards (LADs) are increasingly deployed to support self-regulated learning on online courses. Yet many existing dashboards lack strong theoretical grounding, contextual alignment, or actionable feedback, and some designs have been ...

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

Prognostic Implications of Sleep Architecture for Patients Admitted to the Intensive Care Unit With Status Epilepticus

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Status epilepticus (SE) is associated with significant mortality. Sleep architecture may reflect normal brain function. Impaired sleep architecture is associated with poorer outcomes in numerous conditions. Here we investigate the association of sleep architecture in continuous EEG (cEEG) with survival in SE.

Developmental, Neuroanatomical and Cellular Expression of Genes Causing Dystonia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Dystonia is one of the most common movement disorders, with variants in multiple genes identified as causative. However, an understanding of which developmental stages, brain regions, and cell types are most relevant is crucial for developing relevant disease models and therapeutics.

Completing the picture of field-grown cereal crops: a new method for detailed leaf surface models in wheat

open access: yesPlant Methods
Background The leaf angle distribution (LAD) is an important structural parameter of agricultural crops that influences light interception, radiation fluxes and consequently plant performance.

Traumatic Microhemorrhages Are Not Synonymous With Axonal Injury

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Diffuse axonal injury (DAI) is caused by acceleration‐deceleration forces during trauma that shear white matter tracts. Susceptibility‐weighted MRI (SWI) identifies microbleeds that are considered the radiologic hallmark of DAI and are used in clinical prognostication.

A Net-Zero Vulnerability Index for Great Britain

open access: yesRegional Studies, Regional Science
National net-zero policies have varied regional impacts on patterns of investment and employment. In this paper, we introduce a Net-Zero Vulnerability Index for regions and Local Authority Districts (LADs) in England, Scotland and Wales.
