Glutamate induces autophagy via the two-pore channels in neural cells [PDF]
NAADP (nicotinic acid adenine dinucleotide phosphate) has been proposed as a second messenger for glutamate in neuronal and glial cells via the activation of the lysosomal Ca2+ channels TPC1 and TPC2.

Autophagy-independent LC3 function in vesicular traffic [PDF]
As protein folding is an imperfect process, the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) contains folding as well as ER-associated degradation (ERAD) machineries. In order to prevent premature interruption of folding, ERAD regulators and effectors such as EDEM1 and OS-9 are selectively cleared from the ER in so-called EDEMosomes to downregulate the degradative ...

This study established an RT‐MSCs‐based therapeutic approach for scleroderma in mice. RT‐MSCs attenuated fibrosis by regulating mitochondrial autophagy and restored gut microbiota homeostasis. Metabolomic analyses confirmed recovery of key metabolites, and RT‐MSCs demonstrated favorable lesion targeting and safety profiles.

Nucleocytoplasmic distribution and dynamics of the autophagosome marker EGFP-LC3. [PDF]
The process of autophagy involves the formation of autophagosomes, double-membrane structures that encapsulate cytosol. Microtubule-associated protein light chain 3 (LC3) was the first protein shown to specifically label autophagosomal membranes in ...

Autophagy in Microglia and Alzheimer's disease [PDF]
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common neurodegenerative disease, characterized by amyloid-beta plaques, neurofibrillary tangles and neuroinflammation. Autophagy has been associated with several neurodegenerative diseases.

Halofuginone is a Molecular Glue Degrader of Integrin β4
Integrin β4 overexpression is linked to aggressive tumors and poor prognosis, but targeted therapies are lacking. We identified halofuginone (HF) as a molecular glue degrader that promotes integrin β4 degradation via the CRL4BWDR18 E3 ligase. HF suppresses tumor progression in vitro and in vivo, offering a new strategy for targeting oncogenic ...
