Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Regaining the ‘Object’ of Learning Objects [PDF]

open access: yesInSITE Conference, 2009
Learning objects were to bring a seismic shift to the field of computer-based instruction by introducing transportability and reusability. Supposedly outfitted with the concepts taken from object-oriented (OO) design, learning objects have long promised dramatic savings of time and money in course and curricula development. However, they have failed to

Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

Study on the use of metadata for digital learning objects in university institutional repositories (MODERI) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Metadata is a core issue for the creation of repositories. Different institutional repositories have chosen and use different metadata models, elements and values for describing the range of digital objects they store.

The Learning Object Triangle [PDF]

open access: yes2014 IEEE 14th International Conference on Advanced Learning Technologies, 2014
One critical factor in the effective deployment of learning objects (LOs) is the availability of relevant metadata categories. This work is motivated by the view that metadata identification is enhanced by a clear definition of a learning object. The aim of this paper is to offer a holistic approach to LOs and to introduce a definitional framework ...
