ABSTRACT Central nervous system (CNS) relapse of neuroblastoma carries a poor prognosis, and craniospinal irradiation (CSI) poses substantial long‐term toxicity in young children. We report a toddler with MYCN‐amplified neuroblastoma harboring somatic ALK R1275Q who developed extensive leptomeningeal relapse with paraplegia.

Objective As leptomeningeal metastasis (LM) has a poor prognosis, reliable cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) diagnostic biomarkers are urgently needed. This study evaluated the diagnostic value of CSF growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15) in LM from lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) and breast cancer (BC).

Leptomeningeal Carcinomatosis: A Diagnosis Challenge
ABSTRACT Background Leptomeningeal carcinomatosis (LC) in patients with disseminated cancer has a grave prognosis and limited therapeutic options. Diagnosis is delayed due to low CSF volume and scant cellularity. This quality improvement project was undertaken to evaluate the diagnostic performance of CSF cytology in cases with radiologic evidence and ...
