Screening of Compounds Toxicity against Human Monocytic cell line-THP-1 by Flow Cytometry

open access: yesBiological Procedures Online, 2004
The worldwide rapid increase in bacterial resistance to numerous antibiotics requires on-going development of new drugs to enter the market. As the development of new antibiotics is lengthy and costly, early monitoring of compound's toxicity is essential

Effects of Ethyl Methane Sulphonate Mutagen and Determination of Lethal Dose (LD50) in Rice Varieties

open access: yes, 2023
Ethyl Methane Sulphonate (EMS) is a chemical mutagen widely used to improve rice characters by mutation breeding. The experiment was conducted to find out the optimum lethal dose (LD50) of EMS on four rice varieties viz., Aye Yar Min, Rice Berry, Jasmine

Sublethal and lethal effects of the imidacloprid on the metabolic characteristics based on high-throughput non-targeted metabolomics in Aphis gossypii Glover

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety, 2021
Sublethal effect considered as an emerging factor to assess the environmental risk of insecticides, which can impact the insects on both physiology and behavior. Lethal exposure can be causing near immediate mortality.

The Lethal Dose of Ochratoxin for Chick Embryos

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1973
Abstract Ochratoxin was injected into fertile chicken eggs to determine minimum lethal dosages. The approximate LD50 dosages were: for day 0 embryos—0.04–0.05 mcg., day 6—less than 0.01 mcg., day 12—0.02 mcg., and day 18—0.05–0.08 mcg.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
