The emergence of transferable linezolid resistance genes poses significant challenges to public health, as it does not only confer linezolid resistance but also reduces susceptibility to florfenicol, which is widely used in the veterinary field.

Linezolid-resistant mucoid Staphylococcus haemolyticus from a tertiary-care centre in Delhi
We report an unusual morphological mucoid variant of Staphylococcus haemolyticus associated with linezolid resistance from a patient with sepsis. Linezolid resistance and mucoid character together made this pathogen difficult to treat.

Evaluating Prescriber Adherence to Guideline-Based Treatment Pathways of a Newly Initiated Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at a Rehabilitation Hospital [PDF]
Background: Inappropriate use of antimicrobials in the healthcare setting is associated with consequences including antimicrobial resistance, Clostridium difficile infection (CDI), adverse drug reactions, and increased healthcare costs.

Mutations in the bacterial ribosomal protein l3 and their association with antibiotic resistance [PDF]
Different groups of antibiotics bind to the peptidyl transferase center (PTC) in the large subunit of the bacterial ribosome. Resistance to these groups of antibiotics has often been linked with mutations or methylations of the 23S rRNA. In recent years,

This case series demonstrates that intrapleural gentian violet (GV) irrigation is a safe and effective adjunct for refractory MRSA empyema. GV irrigation achieved rapid bacterial clearance (median 5 days) without procedural complications or systemic toxicity, providing a viable alternative when standard surgical debridement and systemic antibiotics ...

ABSTRACT Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) has emerged as one of the most critical global health challenges, undermining the clinical efficacy of existing antibiotics and threatening modern therapeutic strategies. The ongoing misuse and overuse of antimicrobial agents have accelerated the evolution of resistant bacterial strains and parasites ...

Comprehensive Management of Diabetic Foot Ulcers: Current Evidence and Practice
This figure illustrates a multidisciplinary approach to the management of diabetic foot ulcers, including wound care, metabolic management, infection control, vascular intervention, and surgical treatment. Integration of these components is essential for optimizing healing, preventing complications, and preserving the limb.

Enterococcus spp. dominate the gut microbiota of Heliconius erato phyllis, transmitted horizontally via host plants (Passiflora suberosa) and persisting through development. Multidrug‐resistant strains were found in larvae and plants, suggesting environmental reservoirs of antimicrobial resistance. This study reveals key microbial transmission dynamics
