GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

Studies on metabolism in macrophages [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
A general metabolic profile of macrophages was established by measurement of maximum catalytic activities of enzymes in energy-producing pathways and rates of utilisation of glucose, glutamine, fatty acids and ketone bodies under various conditions.

ROS Self‐Supply Nanoplatform Based on Fenton Catalyst for Chemodynamic and Immunotherapy: Reprogramming Cold Tumor Into Hot Tumor in Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional HA‐conjugated nanoplatform (HA‐PGMC) integrates CuO2, glucose oxidase, and mil‐100 to enable cascade catalytic ROS generation in tumor microenvironments. This self‐supplying ROS strategy induces immunogenic cell death, reprograms “cold” tumors into “hot” ones, and synergizes with PD‐L1 blockade, achieving potent chemodynamic ...

APOE-mediated lipid transport prevents C1q-related synaptic loss after spinal cord injury via attenuating macrophage lipid stress

open access: yesJournal of Neuroinflammation
Following spinal cord injury (SCI), neuroinflammation driven by lipid-laden macrophage foam cells is a key pathology, yet how these cells manage their lipid homeostasis is unclear.

TOLLIP Inhibits Psoriasis Progression via Suppressing PKM2‐Mediated Glycolysis in Keratinocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, we identify TOLLIP as a critical regulator of psoriasis pathogenesis through its modulation of glycolytic metabolism. Our findings establish the TOLLIP‐PKM2‐glycolysis axis as a key mechanism linking metabolic reprogramming to psoriasis pathogenesis, and propose TOLLIP as a promising therapeutic target.

Exserolide J ameliorates lipid accumulation in vitro by regulating liver X receptor alpha and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha proteins

open access: yesHeliyon
Exserolides are isocoumarin derivatives containing lactone moiety. Recently, some isocoumarins have been demonstrated to ameliorate hyperlipidemia, a major factor for inducing cardiovascular diseases.

Single‐Cell Transcriptomic Analysis of Tumor Heterogeneity and the Microenvironment in Pseudomyxoma Peritonei

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a single‐cell atlas of pseudomyxoma peritonei spanning primary and paired metastatic lesions. Distinct epithelial substates, stromal remodeling, immune exclusion, lipid metabolic reprogramming, and a candidate angiogenic network were identified in metastatic lesions.

Endomorphin-1 prevents lipid accumulation via CD36 down-regulation and modulates cytokines release from human lipid-laden macrophages

open access: yes, 2011
CD36 is a scavenger receptor known to play a critical role in the development of atherosclerosis by mediating the uptake of oxidized low-density lipoproteins (oxLDL) by macrophages. thus leading to foam cell formation. It is now generally recognized that

Biofilm‐Binding Phages Enhance Biofilm Eradication by Synergistic Photothermal and Photodynamic Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Engineered phage‐based trifunctional nanofibers are developed for synergistic biofilm eradication. Biofilm‐binding phages, armed with AuNPs and TCPP, serve as both warheads and scaffolds, endowing the phototherapy agents with biofilm‐anchoring ability. Upon light irradiation, AuNPs induce photothermal therapy, while TCPP generates 1O2 for photodynamic ...
