Lipid peroxides induce expression of catalase in cultured vascular cells

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2000
Various forms of oxidized low-density lipoproteins (Ox-LDL) are thought to play a major role in the development of atherosclerosis. The lipid components of Ox-LDL present a plethora of proatherogenic effects in in vitro cell culture systems, suggesting ...

Additional antiepileptic mechanisms of levetiracetam in lithium-pilocarpine treated rats. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Several studies have addressed the antiepileptic mechanisms of levetiracetam (LEV); however, its effect on catecholamines and the inflammatory mediators that play a role in epilepsy remain elusive.

Ferrostatin-1 inhibits osteoclast differentiation and prevents osteoporosis by suppressing lipid peroxidation

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research
Background Osteoporosis (OP) is a systemic disease characterized by low bone mass. New progress has been made in the study of OP, such as lipid peroxidation. However, the role of lipid peroxides in osteoclast differentiation is still unclear.

Effect of dietary lipid peroxides on metabolism of serum chylomicrons in rats

open access: yes, 1993
We have found that in rats the peroxide content of chylomicrons (CM) is determined by the lipid peroxide concentration in the diet, indicating that dietary lipid peroxides are incorporated into the lymph CM.

MXene Wrapped Magnetic Mesocrystals for Durable Redox Catalytic Cancer Therapy and Responsive MRI

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conformal wrapping of ultrathin Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets on Fe3O4 mesocrystals creates topology‐stabilized Schottky junctions that direct photoinduced electron transfer under NIR irradiation. The unique architecture sustains Fenton catalysis, promotes continuous hydroxyl radical production, and provides photo‐responsive MRI contrast.

Copper–Collagen Interactions Regulate the Mechanical and Invasive Properties of Tumor Spheroids

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic copper is investigated as a modulator of tumor spheroid growth and invasiveness in a 3D microfluidic glioblastoma model. Copper exposure alters metabolic activity, cytoskeletal organization, protrusion dynamics, and EMT‐related phenotypes in a dose‐ and timing‐dependent manner, revealing how copper bioavailability shapes tumor aggressiveness ...
