Copper Regulates Cyclic AMP-Dependent Lipolysis
Cell signaling relies extensively on dynamic pools of redox-inactive metal ions such as sodium, potassium, calcium, and zinc, but their redox-active transition metal counterparts such as copper and iron have been studied primarily as static enzyme ...

Control of lipolysis in intra-abdominal fat cells of nonhuman primates: comparison with humans.
The mechanisms that control lipolysis in intra-abdominal fat cells from various primate species, the marmoset (Callithrix jacchus), the baboon (Papio papio), and the macaque (Macaca fascicularis), were compared to those of human intraabdominal fat cells.

The protection of the unsaturated fatty acids of dried grass and sunflower seed against biohydrogenation by rumen micro-organisms : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Agricultural Science in Animal Science at Massey University [PDF]
Ryegrass which had been dried and treated with HCHO was incubated with the rumen contents of a pasture-grazed cow. The protein in the grass was protected from degradation by the rumen microbes.

The pharmacology and function of receptors for short-chain fatty acids [PDF]
Despite some blockbuster G protein–coupled receptor (GPCR) drugs, only a small fraction (∼15%) of the more than 390 nonodorant GPCRs have been successfully targeted by the pharmaceutical industry.

Neomycin Inhibition of Lipolysis in vitro.
SummaryThe effect of antibiotics on pancreatic lipolysis was studied in vitro. Neomycin and some other antibiotics inhibited lipolysis at concentrations below 3 mg per 100 ml. These antibiotics may directly effect pancreatic lipase or alter the physico-chemical state of the substrate.

Obesity is a global health problem that requires research and regulatory attention. This research aims to investigate transcriptome‐wide changes induced by Vigna umbellata (Tsuruazuki) using a stem cell‐based tool and preadipocytes to explore its untapped potential as a functional food for anti‐obesity applications.

Offspring subcutaneous adipose markers are sensitive to the timing of maternal gestational weight gain [PDF]
peer-reviewedBackground Excessive maternal weight gain during pregnancy impacts on offspring health. This study focused on the timing of maternal gestational weight gain, using a porcine model with mothers of normal pre-pregnancy weight.

Abstract Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a complex noncommunicable condition characterized by central obesity, insulin resistance, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, and hyperglycemia. Epidemiological evidence shows that MetS affects a third of the global population; however, due to its complex pathogenesis and limited drug therapy options, the increasing ...
