Effect of different packaging materials on shelf life of litchi fruits (Litchi chinensis)
Current Advances in Agricultural Sciences(An International Journal), 2015Research was carried out to evaluate the influence of various packaging materials on litchi (Litchi chinensis Sonn.) fruits stored under cold conditions. Packaging materials coupled with cold conditions increased the shelf life of litchi to 16 days. Polyethylene and polyvinylchloride were found to be most efficient.

Litchi Fruit Set, Development, and Maturation
2017In broad terms, fruit development can be divided into three stages: set, growth, and maturation. The fruit set of litchi are established soon after fertilization except for the parthenocarpic cultivars, which grow fruits without fertilization. In structure, the fruit of litchi is a drupe with an edible aril enclosing a single seed surrounded by a ...

Maintaining Quality of Litchi Fruit with Acidified Calcium Sulfate
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2010The effect of acidified calcium sulfate (ACS) on the quality of litchi ( Litchi chinensis Sonn. cv. 'Brewster') fruit after harvest was evaluated. ACS at 1.25% or higher concentrations significantly inhibited the activities of polyphenol oxidase and peroxidase in the pericarp during storage at both 5 and 10 degrees C.

Effect of NAA on fruit drop and quality attributes of litchi (Litchi chinensis)
Current HorticultureThe study envisaged the effect of synthetic auxin on fruit drop, cracking, yield and quality attributes of litchi (Litchi chinensis Sonn.) cultivars, viz. Dehradun and Calcuttia in sub mountaneous zone of Punjab (India). The experiments were conducted at four locations for both cultivars, during 2021 and 2022.

Development of a model for quality evaluation of litchi fruit
Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, 2014Sensory quality of litchi fruit is closely related to the appearance, flavor and nutritional quality. Principle component analysis (PCA) and multi-linear regression analysis (MLR) were performed to select the crucial quality factors in determining litchi sensory quality, and then a mathematical model was established to evaluate the litchi quality ...

SummaryThe pattern of leaf composition was investigated in three litchi orchards (cvs Bengal and Tai So) in subtropical Australia (Lat 27°S). Leaves were sampled from fruiting and non-fruiting branches from flowering to fruit harvest. The response to fruiting varied with the nutrient and the orchard. The major effect of fruiting was to reduce leaf K in

Phenological development litchi fruit (Litchi chinensis) in different regions

Physiological and biochemical studies during fruit ripening in litchi (Litchi chinensis Sonn.)
Postharvest Biology and Technology, 1994Abstract Postharvest treatment with Alar or cobaltous chloride was found to be the most effective in increasing the shelf life of litchi ( Litchi chinensis Sonn.) fruits by up to 4 days. These treatments significantly reduced the physiological weight loss, titratable acidity and ascorbic acid content while an increase in total soluble solids and ...
