Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology is currently reader protocol specific. For a common RFID standard to be used as the internet of things (IoT) devices, the reader should either be general or be avoided to facilitate tag communication with a common protocol.

A comparative study of CMOS LNAs
2007 18th European Conference on Circuit Theory and Design, 2007Three CMOS RF low noise amplifier circuits have been designed and simulated. These LNAs are intended for use in 402-405 MHz medical implant communication service transceivers. The inductively degenerated common source LNA (CS-LNA) topology is currently popular because it achieves high gain, low noise figure, and high linearity.

On the Output Impedance of Integrated LNAs
2019 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2019We show that the output impedance of an integrated LNA need not to be matched to 50 Ω for measurement purposes. The result is true for LNAs, both stand-alone or otherwise, that are designed to drive voltage-input or current-input mixers. We show that 50 Ω output impedance matching is detrimental to the performance of the LNA.

The main design goals of an LNA are to achieve low noise figure, high gain, good linearity and good matching and reverse isolation. The choice of the LNA topology is therefore very important to suit the design application. Five LNA topologies were studied, analyzed and compared in this chapter.

Abstract LNA (Locked Nucleic Acid) forms duplexes with complementary DNA, RNA or LNA with unprecedented thermal affinities. CD spectra show that duplexes involving fully modified LNA (especially LNA:RNA) structurally resemble an A-form RNA:RNA duplex. NMR examination of an LNA:DNA duplex confirm the 3′-endo conformation of an LNA monomer.

Synthesis and Hybridization Studies of 2‘-Amino-α-L-LNA and Tetracyclic “Locked LNA”
The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2006A convergent route to a new class of locked nucleic acids, i.e., 2'-amino-alpha-L-LNA, has been developed. The optimized synthetic route to the corresponding phosphoramidite building block of thymine proceeds in 4% overall yield over 15 steps from the starting diol.
