The Regulation of Trace Metal Elements in Cancer Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The induction of ferroptosis inhibits tumor growth, enhances anticancer efficacy, and overcomes drug resistance. Recent evidence shows nonferrous metal elements play a role in ferroptosis. This review focuses on how trace metals regulate ferroptosis processes like iron accumulation, lipid peroxidation, and antioxidant defense.

Molecular and cellular paradigms of multidrug resistance in cancer

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 5, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Background The acquisition of resistance to chemotherapy is a major hurdle in the successful application of cancer therapy. Several anticancer approaches, including chemotherapies, radiotherapy, surgery and targeted therapies are being employed for the treatment of cancer.

Nano‐Topography Enhanced Topological‐Cell‐Analysis in Radiation‐Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy, a treatment that implies exposition of cells to radiation, offers promise to treat cancer. Here, it is hypothesized that the nanoscale details of a scaffold can amplify the response of cells to radiation, measured through topological variables, providing ways to assess the efficacy of Radiotherapy treatment.

Oligonucleotide separation techniques for purification and analysis: What can we learn for today's tasks?

open access: yesELECTROPHORESIS, Volume 43, Issue 23-24, Page 2402-2427, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Nucleic acids are the blueprint of life. They are not only the construction plan of the single cell or higher associations of them, but also necessary for function, communication and regulation. Due to the pandemic, the attention shifted in particular to their therapeutic potential as a vaccine. As pharmaceutical oligonucleotides are unique in

Identification and comparison of m6A modifications in glioblastoma non-coding RNAs with MeRIP-seq and Nanopore dRNA-seq

open access: yesEpigenetics, 2023
The most prominent RNA modification – N6-methyladenosine (m6A) – affects gene regulation and cancer progression. The extent and effect of m6A on long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) is, however, still not clear. The most established method for m6A detection is

Construction of Prognostic Prediction Model for Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma Based on Cuproptosis-related LncRNAs

open access: yesZhongliu Fangzhi Yanjiu, 2023
Objective To develop a new risk scoring model based on cuproptosis-related lncRNAs (CRLs) to predict the prognosis of lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC). Methods Data were obtained mainly from TCGA and GTEx databases.

Long non-coding RNAs as a source of new peptides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Deep transcriptome sequencing has revealed the existence of many transcripts that lack long or conserved open reading frames and which have been termed long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs). Despite the existence of several well-characterized lncRNAs that play roles in the regulation of gene expression, the vast majority of them do not yet have a known ...

FUS Selectively Facilitates circRNAs Packing into Small Extracellular Vesicles within Hypoxia Neuron

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study aimed to unravel the role of FUS in the loading of functional circRNAs into neuronal sEVs under hypoxic conditions, which involves their aggregations in SGs and specific interaction between the FUS Zf_RanBP domain to regulate circRNA sorting in sEVs.
